A: To know, you would have to pull out the old one and see what is behind the dishwasher. i would suspect if your house is more than 10 years old or if you have a pretty old dishwasher, then the adapter kit is needed. many newer dishwashers now have a regular plug. so yes, the salesman could have suggested you might need the kit. i would share that feedback with the salesperson. i am guessing a young BB employee might not know or have ever pulled one out to install!

A: My 300 unit came with a power cord that plugs into a standard 110v home socket. I did not have a use for the junction box.
