Q: Is there a way to get the clock / timer displays to light up?
A: No, this model does not have any of the "fancy" features, like lighted areas! Lol! It's just the very basic 'brew your pot o' coffee' coffee pot, no extras!
Q: I cannot open the the place you put the coffee filter
A: If you have the same unit that I do, it says Mr. Coffee in a fancy font, across the center of the filter/coffee tray, which is immediately above the coffee pot? My model number is BVCM-EVX23, which is located on the underside of the unit, in raised lettering (unfortunately, it isn't in a different color than the unit, black in my case, making it difficult to see, unless u haven't put water or anything in yet and can turn the whole thing upside down to see it easier? Even then, I had to shine a flashlight on it so I could read it more clearly). So, on the top, front section of the unit, where it says Mr. Coffee, look just to the right, where the rounded portion flattens out & is next to the numbering, telling you how many cups you are making, and you will see a finger's width, raised 1" section of the plastic, a "tab" per sé, where you can insert your finger, to open the filter/coffee holder. It swings out, and towards you, swinging open to the left. This "container" is where you put your filter, then your coffee grounds go inside your filter. Hope this helps??? Enjoy your many cups o' jo!!!!!
Q: Does it require paper disposable filters or does it provide own filter
A: Mine did not come with its own filter, it takes paper filters. Not sure if whoever originally answered your question has the same model as the one being advertised at the top of this page or not? But you DEFINITELY want to use a paper filter, or you will have coffee grounds for breakfast, instead of eggs! Lol!
Q: My auto shut off stop working is there a way to program it
