A fresh look at FPS
I love a good first person shooter (Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Battlefield, etc.) My experience with Brink so far has been great. The implementation of required objectives elevates the experience above just running around and shooting people. You have to be smart and play your role whether you are an engineer, medic, soldier or operative. The weapon customizations create a great opportunity to fine tune your character, and you have a ton of freedom to change your character's look.
One thing that makes the game different is that there are no kill counts or K/D ratios. It's not about being the best shot, it's about working as a squad and meeting objectives. You may take out 50 enemies, but the guy next to you who is meeting objectives and buffing the team can get a ton more experience than you.
Just like any new game, be sure to update your video card drivers or you may have problems with OpenGL.
