Posted by: from San Francisco, CA on 04/13/2013This is an excellent p&s camera. I have taken it with me on my journeys around the world to shoot people and scenic photographs during the daytime and in low light situations. It has always produced fantastic photos. Given the skill of the photographer...one can even take shots which are hard to discern from a low level dslr. I have dropped this thing numerous times throughout my journeys, and the build quality is phenomenal. Many manual functions and image customizations available as well.

    Easy to use

Posted by: from Little Rock, AR on 08/28/2011Took this camera to Italy on vacation and found it very easy to use, in churches and museums, especially when "flash" could not be used. I would turn the camera on and off, still would be off until I changed the setting. Also, battery lasted long. Was simple to point and shoot.

Excellent price, but picture quality poor

Posted by: from San Diego, CA on 08/19/2011I researched this camera for a while before I bought it and was really excited when I saw Best Buy's price. Unfortunately, despite the great value I was overall disappointed with this camera and even ended up returning it. The main issue I had with it was the picture quality, it was not what I expected. A lot of the shots came out blurry even with the flash on. Also it is very thin, which is great, but not good for balancing when you are attempting to take a self timed shot, it kept falling over.

Posted by: from Fort Smith, AR on 08/18/2011I bought this as a gift for someone so I haven't really used it myself. My wife has used it though and she likes it better than the Canon I bought her 2 years ago. The camera is fairly small with a large screen covering most of the back. Seemed to be easy to use.

    Great little camera for price

Posted by: from Texas on 08/17/2011I was researching cameras for an upcoming trip to Italy. I was looking for a point-and-click camera that took DSLR quality photos for under $200 (with a budget like that, it seemed almost impossible, I know). So, I researched various cameras and based on the reviews, I ultimately decided to go with this Canon. It is very lightweight! I even scared myself sometimes because I forgot I was holding it. Large screen for it's size, which was a nice plus. Simple buttons help with the use of the camera. The battery life is amazing! It lasted me the entire plane ride (and layovers) from San Antonio to Italy, and it died about three hours into our first day in Venice, the same day we landed. Throughout the trip, I was very pleased with the battery life. I've yet to charge it when I returned home, and it's only on two bars. How great is that?! I was initally looking for a point-and-click that captured amazing colors, but realized that's something that'll cost a little more money. However, this Canon did really well for it's price. It captured colors very nicely for the most part. In some, color was lacking, but nothing a little editing can't fix. I love the low light settings; it captures great pictures, even when I'm not in low light. I myself am not a fan of the auto option, so the various options Canon provides are great. I'm still playing around with it, messing with exposure, white balance, etc., to get the best picture quality I can. I ended up editing most of my pictures with Adobe Lightroom, only because I really am crazy about color quality (: For the most part, I'm able to snap on go! (esp. in low light) When using flash, I did have to push and hold the button, but nothing too bad. Also, I did capture some blurry pictures. Kind of a bummer, but oh well. Zoom is also pretty sweet, too! Pictures didn't look too grainy. I didn't expect to use the video, but I did, and the recordings aren't too shabby! Sound is great and video quality is amazing considering it's a point-and-shoot. Another plus from Canon! Overall, very nice camera for on the go. I am very happy I bought this camera. Can't wait to take it to college with me!

Excellent Quality for a Tiny Camera

Posted by: from Oswego, IL on 08/11/2011Great picutres from such a tiny camera. It took a little bit of time to get used to the menu functions and how to access various settings. Once you have the correct setting, pictures are great.
