Be very careful with this - has temp issues

I soooo wanted to like this wine cooler. After all, I've been searching for one just like this. On the surface it's a great looking unit with a digital temperature readout at the very top of the unit. In addition, it can accommodate all types of bottle sizes (most of the bottles that is) to include some of the longer ones. This alone was a "biggie" for me.
Also, when the unit does come on (compressor?), it is very quiet - like a small refrigerator, as opposed to the various wine coolers out there that have noisy fans in the back - thus preventing you from storing the units in an open area. This one is downright quiet!!!
But after I schlepped it home, I soon realized that the temperature inside of the unit and what the LED readout actually says can vary fromn 10 to 16 degrees. My first unit (I returned the first one) was off almost 18 degrees - meaning, if it said 50 degrees on the LED readout, it was actually 68 degrees inside (I had to put in a secondary accurate readout to determine the right temperature).
Okay, so I returned the first one and got another one. Sure, the second one was better - but the thermostat readout is still between 5 and 9 degrees off (better than the first one) - but still very unreliable.
So right now I have mine set on 52 in order for it to actually keep the inside at 60 degrees (where I want it). So I'm willing to keep it - but bear in mind, you will have to experiment and figure out how far off your LED temperature read is from the actual temperature inside the cooler. You can do this by purchasing a separate small temperature gauge (get an accurate one) to put inside of the unit while you're trying to measure accuracy.
Good luck with this one. It could have been a winner - but still needs more work.

good fridge, when it works

I bought this fridge to age cheese in, and at first was happy with the design and features. However, like other reviewers, I soon found that the internal thermometer was off, using a separate thermometer. It got progressively worse- until I had the fridge set at 35 degrees and could not get it to turn on (it was actually 65 degrees inside). An appliance repairman told me that the tiny computer panel on the fridge was the problem- the compressor was fine- but that I'd have to send to china to get a new panel and that would cost more than the fridge was worth. I'd only had the fridge five months, and it was now useless. Buyer BEWARE- and if you get this fridge BE SURE to get the extended warranty- what comes with it is useless.

Looks great - Temperature unreliable

This wine cooler looks nice and is compact for the number of bottles it holds. I bought the unit and several days later had my first bottle of wine stored in the unit. I had it set on 47 degrees, but after one taste I realized it was too warm. I checked it with a small digital wine thermometer and it was 58 degrees.
I also found the shelves did not quite have enough height for some wide diameter bottles (they rubbed against the shelf above).
I thought this was a great unit at a great price, but I am going to take it back and spend the money for a quality unit.

Don't buy Danby products!

Don't be tempted to purchase any Danby product. You will be tempted by a low price but be aware that the product will only work for a short time before it fails. When you try to get your product repaired under the warranty, they will give you a run-around and try to evade resposibility. For example: they will offer to "pay off" the balance of the warranty-I was offered only $60 for a product that costs $300 new. They will offer to supply repair parts to their authorized service center but you will have to pay the labor charge-$350 for the repair of a $300 product.
Don't take my word for it. Read other reviews at other sellers' sites and you will see what junk this company manufactures.

After about 18 months, this wine cooler no longer works. I suppose it makes a nice end table now...

I bought this to replace a Trash compactor in the Kitchen. It fits perfectly. It was a bit difficult to get leveled, but this was my fault as I installed it before I leveled it out
