Two problems make this a mostly useless product:
1) Does not work as a sync cable. Why would a company make a charger that doesn't double as a sync cable? I would think most customers, myself included, assume that a replacement charger works just like the factory charger from Apple. I was very disappointed that it does not work for syncing.
2) Mine has a short or something wrong with it. I have to jiggle it and fight with it in order to get it to work. I haven't abused it, so I can only assume a product defect.14 out of 14 found this review helpful.

LOVE my iPod Touch 4G, hate when it losses charge. Can't beat the price to keep the hits coming. When I travel I like to escape PC, so don't need sink, but love listening to music or audio, so it's usually easy to find wall charge. Along with little speakers or ear-buds, this charger is a great accessory.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.

I got this thinking I could get a wall charger and usb cable for my ipod, turns out that the cable is only a charger. It will only charge the ipod, will not sync. No where on the box states that the cable is a sync cable, but it is kinda lame since it has the usb look to it.
Basically you can plug it into the wall or computer to CHARGE, but dont think you can sync with it.4 out of 4 found this review helpful.

I bought this charger because I needed something I could use to both plug my ipod into the wall and my computer. It works great when plugged into the wall. The usb part sucks though. I've tried pluggin it in my computer and it doesn't work. My computer doesn't even register that put anything in my computer. I have a mac, so it may work for pcs.3 out of 4 found this review helpful.

I've had this cable a week now, and it has been charging my 4th gen ipod touch via the a/c plug as expected; only complaint is the cable is a foot shorter than I'd like. I plugged it into my mac pro tonight and discovered it doesn't sync with itunes. How can you screw up a simple usb cable when there are standards for this? Either the specs were not followed or apple is doing something proprietary; that wouldn't surprise me. I was told it would charge and sync, so I will be returning the cable for this reason. For 12 bucks more I will buy apples cable.0 out of 0 found this review helpful.
