Synopsis

Synopsis
Be aware of what may be lurking around the next corner in the dangerous Mojave Wastelands in this post-apocalyptic world. Your goal is to make a name for yourself, but beware — in New Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. It's a town of dreamers and desperados where the right person with the right weaponry can make a name for themselves — as well as make an enemy or two along the way. As you battle across the Mojave Wastelands and the neon-drenched Vegas Strip, you'll meet colorful characters, dangerous factions, mutated creatures and more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare "winner takes all" and crown yourself the King of New Vegas.

Fallout New Vegas places you on a thrilling journey in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, called New Vegas. Travel across the treacherous landscape of the devastated wastelands, meet new people and use the latest high-tech weaponry on terrifying monsters. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault. While Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency, in Vegas, fortunes can change in a heartbeat.

Features

  • Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands — from small desert towns to the New Vegas strip — and see the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout
  • Make choices that will bring you into contact with friends and foes and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle
  • Enjoy new additions such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines communication with companions, a Reputation System that tracks your actions and the aptly titled Hardcore mode
  • Special melee moves and real-time combat mechanics give you new ways to fight
  • With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you'll have more than enough exciting, new ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland
  • New weapons configuration system lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications in real time
  • Huge, open world with unlimited options lets you see the sights, choose sides or go it alone
  • Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules or the Wild Card — it's all in how you play the game

GREAT GAME

Posted by: from on 01/21/2013Overall the game is pretty good. Whenever I need help I look up walkthroughs on YouTube. Story isn't better than the fallout 3 storyline but still brings up a nice anticipating game to play!! It is also one of those games where you won't even need online multiplayer. the game really makes you attached to your character.

BEST BUY EVER!!! :)

Posted by: from Houston, TX on 04/25/2012This game is great, but it is similar to Bioshock 1 & 2 AND Alpha Protocol, for those who've played those games before will know what i mean.. But for those who dont know, i'm talking about you given the oportunity to chose what you want the player to say when your character is talking to another person in the game.. Some people might not like that, me i dont mind, i find it interesting, the game is very Realistic, you have to feed your player, or he can dehydrate, he can/will get addicted to drinking alcohol (ex. beer, wine, whisky, etc.# & by pressing R2 you can special choose the body part you want to shoot of the humans and/or animals, but be careful cuz like in the Real World, if you kill a person, you wont find that person alive later on in the game meaning there gone for good #my lil' bro killed the girl that liked me 'the character' when i berly started the game so now i'm stuck in a lonely town with no girlfriend.# so yeah, great game, Especially for the $9.99 i Paid for it Online @ Bestbuy.com #meaning here..lol# i've been playing the game for a while now and i am nowhere near finishing the game, there are so many missions, so many things to do in the game, I LOVE IT, great story too, cant wait to see how the game will end, its crazy.. :)

Has potential

Posted by: from on 01/16/2012This game has been beatin to death, so I'm going to keep this short. I am disappointed that this game has so many glitches. It seems that the designers tried to go too big, without needed experience. My game has frozen many times, and like others have said it feels like I'm debugging a demo at times. The ideas are very promising but I hope in the future they come out with better polished games.

Posted by: from plymouth, ma on 12/03/2011Gameplay is great, graphics are awesome and great story telling. I love this type of first person shooter. Never tried the other fallout games but I'm hooked. If you dont get this one I also recommend Mass effect 2 before the 3rd one comes out.

Bethesda and Obsidian should be ashamed
1
Posted by: from Cincinnati on 11/23/2011This had so much potential. The Las Vegas setting is really nice but everything else fails. From the freezing to the terrible frame rate this game hampers itself at every turn. Obsidian is not known for making great games from Alpha Protocol to the new Dungeon Siege IV (which was actually a big step up from all their previous outings as a developer). When it comes to the story the one thing that this game and the developers have going for them it will have you wondering and playing just one more mission to see what happens but Fallout 3's story is still 100 times better. Overall a pretty bad game honestly I would recommend getting Fallout 3, TES IV Oblivion, or the newly released and amazing TES V Skyrim.

Posted by: from Santee, CA on 08/10/2011A great game that builds on what Fallout 3 presented. Good graphics, an improved VATS system, and a good story.
