Synopsis

Synopsis
Be aware of what may lurk around the next corner in the dangerous Mojave Wastelands in this post-apocalyptic world. Your goal is to make a name for yourself, but beware; in New Vegas, fortunes can change in an instant. It's a town of dreamers and desperados where the right person with the right weaponry can hit it big — but not without making an enemy or two along the way. As you battle across the Mojave Wastelands and the neon-drenched Vegas Strip, you'll meet colorful characters, dangerous factions, mutated creatures and more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare "winner takes all" and crown yourself royalty of New Vegas.

Fallout New Vegas places you on a thrilling journey in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas, called New Vegas. Travel across the devastated landscape of the wastelands, meet new people and use the latest high-tech weaponry on terrifying monsters. Explore the treacherous wastes of the Great Southwest from the safety and comfort of your very own vault. Meet new people, confront creatures and arm yourself with the latest high-tech weaponry in a journey across the Mojave Wasteland. While Vault-Tec engineers have prepared for every contingency, in Vegas, fortunes can change in a heartbeat.

Features

  • Explore the vast expanses of the desert wastelands — from small desert towns to the New Vegas strip — and see the Great Southwest as could only be imagined in Fallout
  • Make choices that will bring you into contact with friends and foes and determine the final explosive outcome of this epic power struggle
  • Enjoy new additions such as a Companion Wheel that streamlines communication with companions, a Reputation System that tracks your actions and the aptly titled Hardcore mode
  • Special melee moves and real-time combat mechanics give you new ways to fight
  • With double the amount of weapons found in Fallout 3, you'll have more than enough exciting, new ways to deal with the threats of the wasteland
  • New weapons configuration system lets you tinker with your toys and see the modifications in real time
  • Huge, open world with unlimited options lets you see the sights, choose sides or go it alone
  • Peacemaker or Hard Case, House Rules or the Wild Card — it's all in how you play the game

Welcome to the Wasteland

Posted by: from JAx, Fl on 05/10/2013Not as great as Fallout 3, but for 20 bucks its a solid pickup. Game glitches a lot, and it takes awhile to pick up any good weapons or armors, so patience is key.

A good addition to the Fallout universe

Posted by: from UT on 06/17/2012I love fallout and always will. Fallout 3 will always be in my mind as one of the greatest games of all time. I sunk hours and hours into the game and its dlc. I was so excited to hear about New Vegas. More Fallout? Count me in. As I began playing it I felt right at home. The game played just how I remembered it should. I enjoyed the thought of exploring and new location and tackling more awesome quests. I loved the new additions to the game as well like the greatly improved buddy system and the variety of ammo types you can put in your weapons. Unfortunately, how it's so familiar to its predecessor is also its greatest weakness. It felt too much like a giant expansion pack for me. After playing the game for quite a few hours I started feeling like I had played the game before. The game still looks the same. Thats not a bad thing at all until you start running into the same glitches and bugs that the 3rd had. There is still very stiff animations, slowdown, game lock ups and whatnot. There werent any quest breaking bugs that occurred in my playthrough but the game just locking up on me made me too paranoid about saving the game and keeping a ton of them. I guess I was just a little disappointed that nothing was really done to correct these issues or improve the visuals overall. Other than that, however, the game is still a joy to play. The story is great and the quests are fun. The improved buddy system I mentioned is probably my favorite addition to fallout. Your companion is usually very competent when it comes to slaying your enemies and the best part is is that you reap the xp rewards whenever your companion kills something. It makes it very much worthwhile to tag along with someone else and if you happen to find a dog in the world you can have the dog and your companion as well. Theres a lot of killing to go around. The bottom line is if you enjoyed playing fallout 3 then definitely give this one a shot. You'll have a great time with this one if you can still look past the abundant unfixed technical flaws from fallout 3. If you didn't like fallout 3 then, first off, shame on you and this one will not convert you

Posted by: from indiana on 08/20/2011I couldnt wait for this game after playing fallout 3.Man was I ever disappointed after the first hour. The map is shaped like a hour glass so there isnt much too see and the enemys are terrible your constantly running for your life and not in a good way.I just kept roaming around thinking there was more but no there wasnt.I play this kind of game cause I dig post apocyliptic nightmares not to sit down and play caravan a lame in game filler card game.Glitchy is not even close to how this game acts its horrible you never know when its gonna freeze. Its a hurryed up peice of garbage.I nver write reveiws but I had to say something.Do not buy it.

Great Game...Bad Programming

Posted by: from Laurel, MD on 08/15/2011This game is awesome as far as playing it, but it is riddled with Bugs. Depending on where you go and what you wear you will not be able to load your saved games. This is an issue across all platforms

Very addictive game

Posted by: from tucson, az on 08/12/2011This game is awesome. But it sucks too. Ok let me explain, anyone that has played Fallout 3 and enjoyed it will love this one. But it is so big that you could play for days without getting up to eat (maybe a slight exaggeration). The enormity of the game is my favorite feature, it is open world with just enough direction to move you along. Just make sure you use at least 1 extra save in addition to the auto save. My friend was at level 25 (character level) and only used auto save, lost power during a save and corrupted his file. That's more than enough to ruin anyones gaming experience. I'm not too sure I like all of the new campfires and such but if you want to make all of your own things you will love the new system.

An amazing RPG

Posted by: from worcester,MA on 08/11/2011Such an amazing game, definitely for those gamers who've enjoyed Bethesda's previous titles (Fallout/Elder Scrolls games). But also a great pick-up if you like to roam, exploring the vast terrain, and making your character however you desire, the expansiveness never ends.

Posted by: from Los Angeles, CA on 08/10/2011Fallout: New Vegas is a really good game, if you like Fallout 3 you should like this one. In my opinion Fallout 3 is better but it is still good. It feels like and add-on so don't expect something different but it is a great game
