Downgrade, but fun
Coming from Family Game Night 3, I was expecting more than what was given. In my opinion, Hasbro wanted to base this game off of their tv game show, but failed to deliver a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The biggest thing that I didn't like is that it is only 2 player. It's not much fun to only play with one other person when the series emphasizes multiplayer gameplay.
It offers a format where you can play all the games in a row or choose to play each one individually for fun. When you do that, they offer a "remix" form of the game, similar to 3, where you play the same game with a variation in rules. Since the game's 5 mini-games take minutes, if that, you tend to get bored fast, especially since there isn't any unlockable or customizable content. You can't even create a unique in-game character; you have to pick from the 6 provided.
The game also lacks a skipping dialogue feature, which gets really annoying at the end of the 'game-show'. Also, skill isn't even a factor in winning. If you win a mini-game, you get (just like in the tv show) Monopoly Cash Cards which have a random amount of money, where one card has a grand prize amount, so to say. So, even if you only win one card, but end up getting that grand prize, you automatically win. That is annoying, but when you're playing with people who aren't good at video games, it at least gives them a chance.
The added functionality for the Playstation Move makes it fun, but it feels limited in some games. Overall, the game is a major downgrade from Family Game Night 3 (which I do recommend), but it can be fun on it's own. Wait until the game goes cheaper than $40 before you buy.
