Fun popcorn film. And movie arrived earlier than expected.

The plot to this story was an interesting one but I hope Gamer doesn't become the future way of playing video games. It did have lots of violence and action. Watching it in Blu-ray 3D made it even better to watch.

Just like overrated movies tend to not always live up to the hype, unanimously trashed pics aren't always nearly that bad (even if they are, like GAMER, based on a video game). This 2009 sci-fi action flick is one of the latter. Certainly, it's no classic, but it keeps going at fever pitch for practically all of its 95 minutes. The cast is (dare I say?) "game," and includes such familiar faces as Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall, Terry Crews, and Kyra Sedgwick. Not too shabby, eh? The real star, though, and the only genuine reason to purchase this filmic amusement park ride is the 3-D. The stereoscopic effects are fairly constant and often awesome. If you're a 3-D fanatic like me, you'll definitely want to add this guilty pleasure to your library. Too bad the home vid arms of the studios chose to bail on us third dimension lunatics.
