Nice for it's size

In her room, this speakers sound better than her boombox radio. I would get me one, but i All ready have speakers for my labtop. There from Creative and they sound way better, but it cost me $80 extra, they still sound great, have them for about 3 years now. But if they go out, This HP speakers will be on my to get list.

Awesome litte speakers

They are powered from a USB port. Fot a speaker used with a portable computer this is a must have feature. The sound is the best you can expect from such a small speaker. It is loud and clear. There is some, but not much bass. The speakers feature a tone control in adition to the basic volume control. This really adds to the listening experience. I have found the sound to be great for games, movies and video. It is adequate for music. The only thing I could say I don't like is the speakers are pretty big to carry around with a laptop or netbook. I don't think they were really designed with that in mind. Honestly I would not use these with a desktop where size and self-contained power are not an issue. I would get something else. For that purpose an entry level 2.1 set would be more suited.
