A: Hi John, This unit is equipped with an auto evaporation system which means it automatically evaporates the condensate through the air outlet hose. There is no need to empty the drainage tank except in very high humidity conditions. Thanks!
Q: Does the flexible hose need to exhaust through a window or opening?
A: Yes, it does.
Q: I have sliding windows. What are the dimensions of the window kit
A: For sliding windows the included window accessory will work if you mount it vertically
A: In theory the duct is open and you could get bugs in it, But it mounts flush in the window kit and I have left the outer screen on the window and am venting the air conditioner through the screen. Similarly, you could tape some screen material over the outside of the window kit or the end of the duct to keep the bugs out so long as the screening was not a solid fabric.
Q: How far from the wall does this unit need to be placed?
A: The vent line expands from about 12” to maybe 4 feet from the window.
Q: Is it loud?
A: Of course it’ll make some noise. But in my opinion, it’s not overly loud. I sleep just fine with it running. It’s as loud as a normal AC I’d say. Hope that helps.
A: It requires a vent to exhaust hot air & condensing water vapor to outside. The vent does not need to be through a window; it can be through a wall or a ceiling vent.
Q: Does this unit have a washable filter?
A: Yes. But it has to be completely dry before replacing in unit.
