Posted by: Masselli from Minerva, Ohio on 05/24/2013I am so glad I purchased this pair of speakers instead of the Bose 301's. I am a fan of crisp, clear high's and strong mid's and these Klipsch's deliver. I have these paired with the Klipsch SW-350 powered subwoofer. One thing I really like about these is the sensitivity rating of 94dB, they don't need insane amounts of power to produce loud and clear sound which is always a plus. I have played these a few times without the subwoofer on and was surprised by the bass they can produce. I keep them about two feet from the wall so I'm sure they can deliver even more if you were to bring them closer to the wall, but if you are serious about the sound you should pair these with a good subwoofer.
I have owned these since they came out in 2011 and have really pushed them, quite a few times and to my surprise there was never any distortion. I listen to a lot of classic rock and some classical music and depending on the audio source, vocals are amazing. I can't stress how clear the high's and mid's are for this price range. I can't see myself purchasing any other speakers any time soon, Klipsch has a great track record when it comes to quality and I anticipate these speakers lasting a very long time.

Posted by: johdomi5 from Fruitland park, FL on 05/11/2013You can not go wrong with these speakers. the sound quality is clear at all volume levels and they are so small. They could have more low end but when used with a subwoofer as in most sound systems there great.

Posted by: ok3256 from Norman, OK on 05/10/2013The speakers are just the right size for my living room. I have other Kilpsch speakers and I am completely satisfied with them. Sound quality is excellent for the size. I hear sounds that I haven't noticed before in movies I've seen countless times before. Great quality. I will be getting more Kilpsch speakers when its time to upgrade again.

Posted by: Disker from Memphis, TN on 05/10/2013Granted, these aren't on par with the Heresy or THX-650 series of Klipsch speakers, they still offer GREAT sound for those on a budget. As with all speakers in the really good to awesome range, these did require a break-in period.
If I had the choice to make again, I would not hesitate to purchase these again.

Klipsch quality sound you can believe in

Posted by: Alan14150 from on 03/29/2013These speakers exhume a sophisticated image without the high price. I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of these when they were dirt cheap for $98, which is an unheard of price for a pair of Klipsch speakers.
The craftsmanship of these speakers is really quite good. They look just as good with the covers on as they do without. In fact I couldn't decide!
These may be the low-end of Klipsch's bookshelf lineup, but the fact is that Klipsch's "low end" speakers rival that of some other speaker maker's mid-range offerings.
I find the highs to be extremely crisp with virtually NO sibilance at all! What this means is that there is no annoying distortion on the "SSSSS" sounds in singer's vocals. I compared these to the Polk TSi speakers that retail for slightly less than the Klipsch speakers, and to my ears the Polks had a slight sibilance in the highs. they just aren't as accurate and precise as the Klipsch's aluminum dome tweeters.
These speakers have been described as being having a foreward and revealing sound. The vocals blend seamlessly with the rest of the music with no drop or peaks, and create a precise and sharp phantom center image. The sweet spot if very wide thanks to the horn. Again, I compared these to the Polks and let me tell you, dome tweeters alone don't have as wide of a sweet spot. If you move around a lot or are watching movies with your family, you will appreciate the wide sound stage that horns offer. (There is a reason why movie theaters use Klipsch speakers .... sensitivity--and of course those wide dispersion horns!)
The bass is just right: not too boomy, with well defined lows, despite being ported. I was surprised that a 5.25" speakers could produce so much bass. The speaker cabinet's size and depth comes into play here; they are quite deep, and having a rear port, they need to be placed a few inches from the wall. that means they might stick out a bit into the listening area.
