Good product for the price

I went out to Best Buy at the last minute and purchased what was on the shelf. It served its purpose but if I had the patience, I would have done more research and bought something else online.

Customer service does not back up product

Posted by: techmom8 from on 05/28/2013Once our ATT given modem, that we used with no problems for 5 years, went kaput we decided to buy one off the shelf so we headed to BB. The sales clerk was knowledgable and told us this was the unit for us. Within a week of installing, we lost our wireless connection so I called their customer service. He walked me through a bunch of setting changes that he said, if not done, could cause it to work improperly (the manual said nothing about this). It worked for about a week, then out. My husband learned that by restarting the modem or the computer, it would sometimes fix itself so we resorted to that since we don't have extra hours in the day to sit on the phone with cust serv. This got so tiriing, that I did call again and they "fixed" it by resetting the modem. Problems continued to the point of multiple times a day losing the internet connection, so I called again. After another hour of "testing", they promised me a replacement and said to expect an email-that I NEVER received so I called back and had to walk through the whole "testing" thing AGAIN. This time it worked so they denied it was a hardware issue and now refuse to replace the product and stated they would call back in a few days to see if it was working. Side note is that the warrantry for free customer service is expiring before that...shysters!

Posted by: Dyseman from Houston, Tx on 05/11/2013After lightning took out our Netgear from AT&T, I replaced it with an Actiontec DSL router because it was cheaper. Well, after the gas to take it back and get this one, I should have just got this router 1st.
Fired right up, put my name and password for AT&T and BAM! Well... Fill out some of AT&T's stuff... and BAM! Internet!
Hasn't given me a problem at all.
