Broke after 1 year

I LOVED this headset until I put it on this morning and it snapped in half. I could not believe the thing broke as it had felt very durable. I started shopping for a replacement online then noticed other reviewers had theirs break too.
Disappointed. I spent a good amount of money on these as I was looking for a quality headset. Yes it was tight (probably why it broke over time) but the sound quality was excellent and the fabric lining on the ear muffs were very comfortable.
Now I got to go look for a replacement.

I never had an over-the-ear headphone that had noise-cancelling. I purchased these and was amazed at the sound quality. I used them primarily for listening to music and/or talking to friends. I didn't use them every day and took very good care of them. After nearly a year, a crack started to form right where everyone else says it does, I thought it might have been a little surface crack to begin with, then one day I dropped them on the carpet (with padding underneath) and they split into two!
I tried to repair them with Super Glue and even a hot glue gun. It just doesn't work because of the stress point. I expected more durability from a pair of headphones that cost a hundred dollars (at that time).
My friend had a pair of these same headphones, and she said they split in the exact same spot too. So. Plantronics must know it's a design flaw and they just don't care. I won't be getting another pair and it's a shame because they sounded great.

I like the headset, great sound quality, and I have had very few issues with it, occasionally there is a brief bit of static when changing the volume or bending the cord around the volume control (not normal bending while wearing, but when grabbing it or something).
The big problem is the left side, along where the top of the mic is when it is in the body of the headset cracks and after a while completely breaks. I am not rough with it, I was actually extra careful with the second one after seeing what happened to the first, but just the slight bending when you put it on/off your head leads to it cracking (the whole side will finally come off leaving only the wire between the two sides)
I have had 2 of these, the first one was replaced by Plantronics under warranty (I had to pay shipping) because it cracked as well. My second one just broke on the left, but I was able to fix it with some electrical tape and a zip tie.
Overall, great headset if you plan on replacing it every year.

When I first purchased these headphones they worked out great. I have had them for just over a year and they randomly snapped. The plastic just broke. I was very careful with this pair since I did spend $100.00 on them.
When I contacted Plantronics they told me it would be $48.00 plus shipping to get a REFURBISHED pair. That's half the price of a new pair.
After the customer service and how easily these broke, I would not buy another pair from Platronics.

I've had this headset for a year now and have come to like and dislike a few things about it. I do like the microphone and for two reasons. One it tucks nicely out of the way when you don't need it and two everyone that I talk to on it says it sounds great. Hardly any background or ambient noise comes through. As for the speakers, the sound comes through decent for games and movies, but it lacks volume and definition when listening to music.
My brother has the lower priced 377 and to tell you the truth, I can't tell the difference in sound quality between the 777 and 377. The only differences are $50 more for the 777, it has the Dolby device with USB, and the color is slightly different. The 377 has red accents which actually look better to me.
As for comfort, I don't have too much of an issue with that. It has plenty of room around my ears and the padding is adequate. I only notice discomfort if I wear them for over a couple hours, but in my experience any headset eventually gets irritating. It might have to do with break in or the size of your head, mine's about average.
Overall, it's a decent headset for gaming or maybe watching some movie's. The Dolby feature wasn't worth $50, even though the USB plug was nice. I wish I would've gotten the cheaper version, but then again I didn't review it first like you are doing.

This is a great headset. Install is simply plug-and-play, either by USB or normal audio jacks. When I first tried them, I thought the sound was blasting through my desktop speakers. I then took them off and realized it was actually from the headset itself. The Dolby Surround really makes things sound great.
The headset itself is very well built and designed. The plastics are very thick and sturdy. I guess these are heavier than most, but it's nothing noticeable. The microphone hides away in the headset itself, making it look like a normal set of headphones. It fits very well, although the cushions can make it feel pretty tight. I've been using these for a few hours straight and there's no discomfort. It's just a little tighter than I'm used to.
The open-ear design means sound WILL get through, but only if nothing is playing through your headset or during quiet parts of your game. This isn't marketed as noise-canceling, so don't expect that. If you play in very loud environments and always want to hear JUST what's coming out of your computer, then you may want to hold on to your receipt. I find that the headset does a good job at drowning out any other sounds at a comfortable sound level.

I only put the packaging as not so great because it can be a pain to cut open the plastic.
Overall this headset is really good. I used it for the first time last night while playing a game with my dad and using Skype and it sounded like he was right beside me the whole time. This is my second set (my girlfriend stepped on my other set and broke the left earpiece off) and it's just as comfortable and easy to use as the first. I love having the usb option because my soundcard can't handle direct mic inputs (yes, I need to upgrad). I like how much padding is used both on the earpieces and on the crown part. I sometimes forget I even have headphones on. I was talking with my dad and mid sentence I realized I was almost yelling in my room. It was excitement, nothing to do with the headset. It was like the world melted and the only thing around me was him and the game. I highly recommend this product. The price is kind of high but it's well worth it.

This is a great headset for gaming, and music. It sounds amazing when i just use my computer's sound card.(i have realtek High def) I don't really like the dobly digital, its sounds crummy. But its not that bad, i just like my sound card better. The pads on this headset are so nice and soft. They are nice and warm when have them on for like 10 minutes(not to hot) They are adjustable and will fit any head. I have a small head, and they fit me fine. The ear cup its perfect size, it goes right around your ear, and not on your ear. So it doesn't hurt after an hour of gaming. If anyone is looking for a great headset i would recommend these for anyone. Thanks Plantronics!!
