Product Manuals

Q: I have a Nikon 3100 and bought the 55mm polarizer for my 18-55mm lens. It doesn't fit. It doesn't fit my other lens either which is a 55-200mm. How do I know what size to buy? Both my lenses are 55mm in diameter, right? Thought I was buying correctly.

A: The "18-55" in lens specification is the focal length, not diameter. You can see the diameter printed somewhere around the front of the lens. It should have the Greek letter phi before it. For example, 55. See this picture for example: http://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/images/tutorials/filters_diameter.png

Q: Can I use this on a 55-85 mm lens?

A: The "55-85" in lens specification is the focal length, not diameter. You can see the diameter printed somewhere around the front of the lens. It should have the Greek letter phi before it. For example, 55. See this picture for example: http://cdn.cambridgeincolour.com/images/tutorials/filters_diameter.png

Q: circular polorizer does not fit on Nikon D3200

A: use a 52mm polarizer for the kit lens that came with the camera.

Q: Is there a way to remove the lens once it's on?

A: Are you asking if the filter can be removed from the lens. If so, absolutely. It is threaded. It also protects the lens, in case of blunt force, the filter will sustain damage long before the much more costly lens, and is then removed and replaced.
