Does not work according to packaging

Posted by: CaptMike1407 from Upstate, NY on 03/31/2013I purchased to use my iPhone4 with IOS6.1.3 in my truck. When I plugged the unit into my iPhone, I received the :Accessory is not compatible with iPhone" error. I did however play through my car stereo. I downloaded the app and it said that the tuner was not connected. When I unplugged my iPhone, nothing would play through the phone speaker including the notifications until I did a restart.
I contacted support and they advised me to do a soft reset of my phone and remove it from any cases, which I did. I still had the same issue. When I called back, I point blank asked them if it was tested with an iPhone 4 with IOS 6 to which they said yes. They told me it was a problem with my device.
My phone is provided by my employer, so the next day I got no less than 11 iPhone4 and 4s from my co-workers and they ALL had the exact same issue. When I called their support back with this information they said "Huh, it must be a problem with our device." As soon as I can get beck to Best Buy I am returning it. Do not waste your time.

Posted by: GrumpyCecilia from Washington, DC on 11/13/2012It's ridiculous that the product does not tell you the minimum level operating system you'll need to operate the unit or that you'll have to download an app to use it. This should be clearly labeled on the outside of the box. It clearly wasn't, and because I could perform the upgrade I couldn't use the app. Without the app, you can't use the unit. So the unit had zero value to me b/c it was incompatible. Requirements should be printed on the box. When they aren't you end up with headaches and returns. I NEVER return things, but I had to return this item. It was over a hundred dollars and didn't work with my iPhone. I should have known, because it had been visibly previously returned. I believe this has everything to do with a lack of system requirements printed on the back. My understanding is that it's a great device- IF you can get it to work. I didn't get that far. Simple software fixes, or more clear system requirements printed on the back would have made this a great product. As it is, unless you have the latest and greatest system upgrade, and no trouble downloading upgrades/downloading apps, don't get it. It probably would have worked with my new iPhone, but failed with my old one.

Once you plug your device in the device will need to download an app from the app store. On the iPhone no big deal, on the iPod, make sure you have a WiFi connection to get the download because it won’t work without it. Compared to others, it’s all about the same, no standout performance! The LCD screen isn’t that great. The fade effect backlight is actually kinda irritating and makes things hard to see in sun light plus it’s pretty small! It does work with all apps including TuneIn Radio & Pandora but it will not work with a phone call. (Bummer!) Like all the other FM transmitters the music has a mono tone to it but it’s still of good quality. Also, if you want to jam to your favorite tune, you’re not going to get jamming level volume out of it, but it can get pretty loud…
