Q: Does it have permanent filters?
A: A)The Hepa filter is recommended to be replaced every 2yrs. The run-time varies depending on the size of the room. Once the purifier detects the air is clean the “Clean sign will display green” on the unit.

It features both a HEPA filter, which would remove the cigarette smoke, and a deodorizing pre filter which would remove the odor from the smoke. A: Thank you for your interest in the FP-A60U Sharp air purifier. It is recommended that you change the HEPA filter at least every 2 years. It is recommended that you change the deodorizing pre filter about every six months. The times can vary depending on usage, room environment and location. The filters should be checked regularly and replaced as needed.
Q: Is the Sharp plasmacluster A40UW the most recent model? Is it more efficient than the A40CW model?
A: There is a more expensive unit that covers more square foot but after much research I find it difficult to justify as this works exceptionally well and is a good value at the price.
