Posted by: AussieSurfer from Toms River, New Jersey on 06/07/2013This has to be one of the best products to come from TiVo to date. I admittedly wasn't in the market for a 4 tuner TiVo as I was happy with my two 2 tuner Premiere's, however I had some extra money laying around and I thought to myself "eh why not?" and I picked one up. With the updates to the HD user interface over the past year, as well as the increased processor speed, the ability to wirelessly stream recorded content via the TiVo Stream to tablets and smart phones, and with the added bonus of Comcast's Xfinity On Demand app (for free) this literally can replace a Comcast set top box and in a cheaper way as well with the one year subscription for 15 dollars instead of 19 or more dollars a month from Comcast.

Posted by: danOR from San Francisco, CA on 05/25/2013The TiVo P4 DVR is great. Lots of feature for the price. The set up was pretty easy and it works great with my Comcast Cable Card. I even get Comcast on Demand. The IOS app is awesome too, you can schedule/delete/modify your recording when you are not at home.

4 tuners. Works great just like older TiVos.

Posted by: Rooks from Philadelphia on 05/03/2013Great product. 4 tuners is the best. Storage is fine, but wished it had a little more. Wish the lifetime contract was a little cheaper but you only have to use it for a little less than 3 years and it pays for itself. Love this product.

1000X Better than Cable Company DVR
5
Posted by: JimCentralIndiana from Indianapolis, IN on 04/20/2013My cable bill dropped almost $30/month by dumping the cable company's DVR. In addition, my wife likes the TiVo's MUCH better. I now have five (two five-year-old TiVo HD units that are still going strong, a Premier 4, a Premier XL4, and a TiVo Mini). They're absolutely worth it. I can stream between DVR's, I can watch Hulu, Netflix, and others. If you watch a lot of TV, you just can't beat TiVo.

Posted by: FatPug from Midwest on 04/13/2013I don't see any advantages with Tivo over any other DVR. Monthly fees are to high.

Awesome Quick and Easy!

Posted by: BigTony669 from Cutchogue NY on 04/12/2013The TIVO was extremely quick. Only had one problem with Cablevision needed two cablecards to get it fixed. Netflix and Hulu works great on it as well. Really beats cable's DVR. Must have!

Great User Interface, monthly charge a bit high
4
Posted by: Pesto from Charlotte, NC on 04/11/2013I have owned TiVo devices for years. I work for a cable company, and like to compare the user interface of the TiVo to what we offer. There are some nice features that TiVo offers, but the monthly fee on top of what you have to pay the cable company, makes it difficult to justify this box vs. what the cable company offers.
Pros
-Great UI
-Lots of nice features for streaming from other providers
-Easy to navigate menus and intuitively set up
Cons
-Pricey monthly fee on top of what you need to pay cable provider for cable card and tuning adapter
-Features haven't changed much in years, which can be good and bad
Overall TiVo obviously leads the pack with their UI and boxes, but trying to justify the additional cost of purchasing the box and the monthly charge vs. leasing from the cable company makes it a difficult decision.
