A: This set up is very simple no cable cord required just the 3 red yellow and white cords and they are included.
A: No, you can't. This recorder, and all current Toshiba recorders, does not have a tuner. With older VCRs, you could watch one program while recording another because the recorder and TV each had a tuner. The recorders tuner was tuned to one channel, and the TVs tuner was tuned to a different channel.
Q: can you use this machine to convert your old vhs tapes to dvd?
A: No. This model has a DVD player, not recorder. To copy from VHS to DVD, see the DVR620, below. Be aware that most commercial VHS tapes and DVDs have copy protection embedded in the video, preventing duplication.

A: Yes you can. This is the purpose for which I made the purchase. It replaced a separate VCR and DVD player that I used to have.

A: It has component video out, s-video and regular old video out. comes with those cheap cables. There is no HDMI or DVI output.

A: Yes. It's labeled as SLP mode. It's the same thing.
