A: The Otterbox Defender for iPad Air will not fit the 2017 latest model iPad 9.7. Bestbuy now has the otterbox defender for the new iPad and it fits perfectly! I had to wait for some time for it to be available but it was worth the wait!

A: It does; the hard plastic is 2 pieces that snap together. After that the rubber case is placed around the plastic.

Q: Will this fit an iPad model A1458 that we received as a gift a couple of years ago?
A: No. This case fits the 2017 5th generation iPad. According to your model no. you own the 4th generation iPad. In order to get a proper fit, I would recommend buying the previous generation otter box case. I advise to purchase instead the otter box defender model no. 77-18640 It is compatible with 2nd, 3rd, and (yours, 4th generation) iPads. I apologize if this is a double post. I wasn’t sure if my original response went through or not.
