Great monitor that delivers a clear and crisp picture quality. The monitor brightness and overall contrast is fantastic, and gives a very vibrant and accurate picture. The slim bezels are fantastic too, so using it in a multiple monitor setup is very nice as there isn't much bezel space between the screens. Only real design flaw is the inability to adjust the height of the vertical stand, but the pros of this monitor hugley overwhelm any con it has. With DVI, HDMI, and VGA outputs as well, the monitor has a versatility for what you're able to plug into it. The monitor has no speakers, but as a gamer, I prefer actual seperate good quality speakers or a headset, so it's a non-issue. Great buy, and excellent monitor!

Acer? Who knew?..Better then expected.

I'll start by saying I returned it. Why?!? Not the greatest for gaming. Which was it's sole purpose in my case. Casual gamers will be pleased, but hardcore competitive online gamers look else where.
Lots of motion blur and ghosting.
About as much as monitors of years past, so some may not mind, but others looking for a high performance screen with smooth motion look else where.
It's image quality is outstanding I have to admit. Surprised me.
Colors are about as accurate as the average user is going to need. Bright panel with decent contrast, even though it's black levels weren't the deepest.
Sharp clear picture with no negatives in the picture department. If I was judging it on picture quality alone over it's performance for gaming I'd still own it TBH.
It does have a glossy screen so beware of screen reflections.
Only one user setting for all the inputs.
Audio out jack (for HDMI) volume even maxed out was sort of low, and if your using HDMi you'll be using the audio out since this panel doesn't have a speaker. If your using headphones it may be a problem, with external speakers it wont be.
For the average PC user (text documents, web surfing, watching videos) at least in the picture department; can't speak of it's longevity, this is probably one of the nicest screens you can get above 22" for $150 or less. Good deal. Again, Acer surprised me.
IPS panels produce rich color and great viewing angles, but your going to need a TN with their faster response times for a slight reduction in blur.
I'm still searching for that panel with smooth motion for competitive gaming. Tv's that promise smooth motion also introduce lots of processing of the iamge which leads to input lag. Which is worst then motion blur.
Dang shame LCD's killed Plasma Tv's. I may need to invest in a purpose built gaming monitor. At about twice this price with less picture quality...It's a shame with the give and take of LCDs. I miss Panasonic plasma's. =(

Awesome computer monitor

So far I'm thrilled with my purchase. I replaced an 11 year-old flat screen that worked, but was technically ancient. I ordered my Acer online and picked it up the same day. I opened the box, assembled the base (no tools required), plugged HDMI cable (included) into my Mac Mini, plugged in the power cord, turned it on and began to use it. The resolution is better than anything in my house (including my MacBook Pro). The colors are rich, contrast good; no adjustments whatsoever. The viewing angle is one of the reasons I chose this monitor and I'm not disappointed. There is practically no border to the monitor, so when the monitor's off it's essentially a black piece of glass on a black stand. My original Samsung cost $400, so I'm very happy with the price.
Con: The buttons (lower right bottom) are not marked (other than a small symbol for the power), but when you press one you get an onscreen menu. Not necessarily a bad thing, just a bit of a mystery at first. The "on" button emits a downward shining blue light, but that goes off when the monitor's asleep. All that said, once I turned the monitor on I no longer need to use the buttons at all.

This is my first full hd monitor and all i can say is wow! You get full hd at 1080p, led ips and 3 inputs(vga hdmi and dvi) which are located on the back not the bottom making it easier to connect. As a bonus i had it shipped to my house FOR FREE and it arrived THE NEXT DAY. Also has a 3 year warranty. All for 129.99 plus tax.

Was great for 8 weeks

Bought monitor at beginning of March, liked it a lot until today, when it suddenly dimmed, especially in the lower corners. After I left it off about 15 minutes, it returned to normal for a while, then same thing happened after about an hour. Left it off several hours, worked a while, then same thing. Geek Squad suggested it might be backlight going bad and that I should contact Acer ASAP. Did that and learned that I need to ship it to them in Texas, at my expense, preferably via UPS or Fedex, with 3-5" bubblewrap padding, then wait 7-10 days for repair. Tried to get some troubleshooting on their site to avoid this if something else is wrong, but they'd charge $28. I'm not at all happy with this, since sending it for repair -- under warranty! -- will cost about a quarter of the price of a new monitor. Will get it fixed, but won't buy Acer again with this kind of warranty policy.

The good: Right out of the box this monitor was easy to set up with out any use of the owners manual. The image it displays is very sharp and vibrant compared to other monitors I have owned in the past. The face of the unit has a very modern look being almost completely flat. There is only a little trim along the bottom edge giving it less of a boxy feel than other similar monitors. This also makes a nicer setup for dual monitors as you could put two of them next to each other and almost feel as if they were the same device. The inputs and outputs are more than what i need out of this monitor, but its nice to have them there if i ever run into a situation that i would want to use them.
The bad(very minor at that): you may have to mess around with the monitors menu buttons a bit to understand how it operates. After you press a menu button the navigation menu is displayed on the screen and you have to look at the text on the screen to know what buttons to hit.

Decent Monitor for the price

Its a little small and the glare is absolutely terrible, and the buttons are hard to push or even find, but other then that its decent.
