Good tablet for general use Posted by: from: on I bought this tablet to replace a Nexus 7 that died after it was dropped. Wanted tablet for reading Kindle eBooks from library (10 inch screen is nice size/ weight for this purpose), reading emails & news feeds. Was pleasantly surprised at how well it also streams video (Netflix, Xfinity, etc). Even though a 10" screen, was still able to use free app versions of word/Excell/PowerPoint etc. Has been very practical for quick checks on spreadsheets, which I didn't expect. Nexus 7 was less useful because of smaller size. Might lag during gaming. I'm not a gamer so it hasn't been an issue for me and can't offer opinion. Front facing speakers are good for streaming. I picked up on a sale for $129.99 and would highly recommend at this price.

This is a great Android based tablet Posted by: from: on So I tried this with hesitation, because I'm an Apple guy. However, I was impressed with this tablet. The speed is decent, the size is good, the weight is good, the battery life is good. If you don't want to pay the extra for an Ipad, which is over rated in many ways, this is a nice tablet. I've let my tech son play with it too and he came to the same conclusion. It is a decent tablet, at a decent price. For a cool way to do Android tablets, consider saving links to the websites you visit on your desktop vs. using apps all of the time. I'm not happy with the permission stuff Android apps all want to use, so using shortcuts to websites as icons on the desktop, will solve both issues! Again, great tablet, at a very reasonable price, and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced tablet.

Like it....except for Posted by: from: on The constant SYSTEM MEMORY LOW message I needed a tablet for a long plane trip (sounds spoiled I know-sorry)....anyway searched online-found this had agood price and available at my local BB. I went in ready to purchase. The DISPLAY model was running the system memory low message. I told the sales associate, "That's not a good sign.". She told me they had loaded a bunch of apps on it because it's a demo. Bought it (a new one, not the demo). Plugged it in and the message immediately ran. Other than that I like it. For $109 I shouldn't expect more. As far as recommending it...if you are looking to buy something to watch movies, FB, surf, its fine. If you need to run multiple apps you will be disappointed..but again if you want a lot of power you have to spend more.

Doesn't set the world on fire, but does the job. Posted by: from: Bradenton, FL on Was excited to receive the tablet and see what it could do. First impression was mixed. It is very lightweight and feels kind of delicate. It was very easy to set up and start using. I am not used to android and Google Play so that took a little time to set up. Overall performance is decent, but it's not very fast. It is a little on the slow side starting up in my opinion, and gameplay is faster on my iPhone. I will say that the value for money is there as long as your expectations aren't too high. It's a good tablet for the kids as you aren't going to be out a fortune if they break it. All in all, it's not a cheap disposable, but it's not an iPad either.

Nice inexpensive tablet you get what you pay for Posted by: from: Chicago on The screen resolution is clearly lacking. Maybe it's the 10.1 screen size but I see a lot of pixels. The speakers being front facing is nice but the sound quality is AWFUL. It's nice that it comes with a screen protector already factory installed. Having 32gb internal memory with a micro SD slot gives it plenty of memory, oh but there is only 1gb of system memory. Acer installs a nonremovable, nonstoppable app that from the time you turn on the tablet warns you that you are low on system memory. Go through the process of freeing up memory and as soon as you run anything it tells you you are short again. While I'm glad they included the app I wish that you could disable it. One last thing, this is my second tablet in 2 weeks. The first had a wacky screen glitch that caused part ot the screen to flash on and off. Best Buy exchanged it since it was less than 15 days old but it makes me worried on how robust it is.

Tablet was great Posted by: from: on I only wanted this tablet to play games and search the internet, which it was great for both. Starts up fast, quickly loads pages when surfing, no issues playing games or downloading apps. For those reasons and the price, I would give it a 5 star review. I dropped it to a 3 star for the following reasons. I only downloaded four basic games, have never taken pictures or downloaded anything of substantial size, yet a few times a day it tells me it's low on memory and running slow. This is pretty much a bare bones, brand new tablet and shouldn't be doing this right out the gate, in my opinion. The actual tablet is really flimsy and cheaply made, which doesn't exactly bother me since its a cheaper tablet, but new buyers should be aware of this. The main reason I have lowered the rating is I have had the tablet for 12 days. It now flashes from a blank screen to the Acer logo and blank again. It will not do a hard reset. It is literally stuck in this cycle. I will exchange the tablet and give it another shot since it did work well for basic functions. I hope this was just a bad unit I happened to get and no one else has had this issue. I will update after I have a chance to give the replacement a test drive.

Great Basic Tablet for Beginners Posted by: from: on This tablet is great for beginners, those on a budget, or those looking for a basic tablet without some of the fancy bells and whistles of higher priced tablets. If you are looking for a tablet to: -browse the Internet -check emails -video chat -play games -use while traveling -other basic things then you should consider this tablet. Target audience for this tablet includes: kids, students, travelers, basic tablet users, budget tablet users. If you are looking for a tablet to: -watch a lot of 4K/HD movies and videos -use as a serious, high graphics gaming tablet -use in a business setting then I would probably look at a higher quality tablet. Pros: -Cost for Specs Included -Large Screen -Front and Rear Cameras -Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 32 GB Memory -Accessories Available (cases, screen protectors, etc.) -Expandable Memory (add your own micoSD card) -Android Operating System Cons: -Picture Quality -Plastic Build (does not feel or look like high quality) -Speakers (are ok quality, you can get around this by using headphones) -Bloatware (unnecessary Acer apps loaded on tablet that cannot be removed - including the one that causes people to get the 'Low Memory' notification when the memory is just fine)

Decent tablet for the price. Posted by: from: on I have had several Samsung tablets, but none of them lasted much past their warranty, so took a chance with a much less expensive tablet. This tablet works OK, and for the price is a decent tablet, but compared to a Samsung, it does not match up. The screen is not as vivid or responsive, but the main problem with this tablet is the speed. With only 1G ram it is very slow. I finally gave it to my daughter and purchased a new Samsung. She uses it mainly for Facebook and Netflix, and seems to do fine with that, but I use Power Point and real programs, and it was dreadfully slow for that. The 32G is adequate, however with only 1G memory it is underpowered and slows it down too much. But other than that it is still working, and is only 1/4th the Price of the Samsung I bought.

Average Tablet Posted by: from: on I have a lot of “technology” devices. Nexus 9, Ipad 2, HTC M9, Iphone 6, Oneplus One, Asus tab just to next a few. I am spoiled when it comes to technology. I expect everything to work just like what I have or better. The Acer Iconia One in some ways disappoints. Right out of the box the tablet doesn’t feel natural. I am so use to the Nexus 9. It’s a bit heavier and bigger.. The plastic back feels cheap and when holding the tablet with one hand on the corner it feels like it’s going to snap because of the weight. The device had a hard time connecting to my router and in some cases it didn’t connect at all. The Iconia One felt like it lagged in when using it.. wasn’t snappy or sharp. I noticed a very very small delay enough where it bothered me. But for around a $140 I guess you get what you pay for. It’s an average tablet in my mind. Personally, I’d rather spend a little more for a better tablet.

Very good entry level tablet Posted by: from: on Background disclaimer: I've never owned a tablet before. I've used my wife's IPad and my son has an Acer tablet. I normally use my laptop. Pros: - 10 inch screen is great. I downloaded my TV and sports apps to watch TV/videos. No issues. Clear HD pictures and keeps up pretty well despite the low RAM. - My first tablet. It does the job for all basic tablet needs. Social Media, watching videos, browsing, reading emails, etc. Cons: - 1GB of RAM: The constant message of low memory is annoying. This tablet should have at least 2GB of RAM. I even went to my local Best Buy and asked if there is a way to purchase additional RAM and the tech I spoke to says there isn't (if that's incorrect, please let me know). - No camera flash/auto brightness. I rarely see a time where I would even use the tablet to take pictures, but the fact there are 2 cameras on the tablet, there should at least one flash, or have auto adjustments to correct pictures that are too dark or too bright. Despite the cons, this tablet does the overall job of a tablet, which suits my purposes.
