iPad Posted by: from: on My iPad experience follows an iMac 2009 multiple iPhones and iPods. This was purchased as a learning tool for the family. At this point I find the interface smooth with great power. As a side note, my operating system on iMac will not interface with it, will not recognize it. Not sure if I am operating an outdated iOS on the iMac. The iMac works quickly and integrates to the family sharing and iCloud seamlessly. The apple pencil integrates well, though I am not an artist, and offers many options for rich learning experiences for my young daughter. Have not been able to assign multiple user accounts, and the system needs a more robust interface to child lock apps, or apps need to offer disabling of home button to keep children focused. Basic apple experience which works for my needs well except for all of the DRM management which makes it difficult for me to access my own recorded works that I find necessary to do my music business. Ironic that it makes recording easier but listening, sending and collaborating more Difficult.

Not just for professionals! Posted by: from: on I admit to having been a bit disappointed when the iPad Pro was announced. I had been looking forward to an upgrade to my iPad Air, and figured the Pro was not for me — a retired woman with no particular creative ability and no job. The only thing "professional" about me is my ability to loaf! Then I read an enthusiastic review that suggested that the new Pro had universal appeal. I checked one out at Best Buy and was blown away by the beauty of that big screen. All the activities that attract non-professionals to the iPad — keeping up with email, news, shopping, games, reading, photos, videos — are all even better on the iPad Pro. I love the big sound from the four speakers, the brightness, the color, the speed. Yes, the screen is big, but it doesn't seem unwieldy or awkward to handle. (Although I admit that I am usually comfy in my recliner when using it!) No, it's not inexpensive, but when I consider the price divided by the number of hours of enjoyment it provides, the iPad Pro has turned out to be a real bargain.

You Never Know Until You Own It Posted by: from: on I have bought every other general of iPads. I have to say, iPad Pro should hold its own category. The enlarged screen will bring great experiences to both reading and video watching. I really enjoy really papers/magazines on iPad and there is no better experience than the iPad Pro. Its screen size is similar to A4 paper and you don't have to worry about Zoom your screen anymore.

The best tablet for digital painting! Posted by: from: on Before I've made this purchase,I've tried the surface pro 4,which suffered from pen/latency issues,a poor touch interface, and heating issues, but after exchanging for the iPad Pro,I've found that this device provided the best digital drawing experience I've ever had. When combined with Procreate (only $5) and the Apple Pencil ($100),you'll find that you've got the best mobile art studio on the market. There's no lag or excessive heating while working with large canvases in Procreate. The interface is also better than anything you could find on a Windows app. While painting, you will NOT get a hover cursor under your stylus, but that is more of a plus,as you'll be less distracted as you draw your lines. It's also better than drawing on a Wacom tablet.

Oh, Just Wait Until You See It! Posted by: from: on Talk about Big? I have the Galaxy Note 12.2 Tablet and the screen here is much wider, almost double. The IPAD PRO has that Split window now and boy oh boy it works with a very limited amount of Apps. Compared to Samsung Note Pro 12.2 which works with with up to 4 Windows split and so many useful apps. I also noticed that side by side the COLORS of the SAMSUNG were MUCH MUCH more VIVID and richer compared to the IPAD PRO's. The Samsung has a BUILT IN STYLUS and I have to wait for the APPLE PENCIL and I DON'T KNOW WHY. There is NO PLACE to put it when not in use. And another $100 plus tax the cost of some tablets and some phones. I have over $1200 invested into this 128 GB IPAD PRO with LOGITECH Keyboard and I own the AIR 2 I am not BLOWN away by the tablet. I am ok with it. I think of how many 2 in 1's or laptops like a nice 15 inch and saved $700. If the Pencil is not out before the RETURN policy is up I will return the PRO

Good for reading papers -- Bad pencil design Posted by: from: on It is a good size tablet for reading purposes, particularly in reading papers. However, pencil design is not good for writing purposes. It is heavy and center of gravity of the pencil is very close to the rear part of it. Thus, it falls back if you do not keep grabbing it. Besides, it does not have an eraser. It does not have a second button which should be used to select, cut or paste. Battery life of the pencil is not acceptable. If you are not planning to use the pencil with the tablet, it is a good tablet. On the other side, for taking notes, deriving equations.. it was not convenient for me. I should add that this is my opinion. You should stop by an apple store and try before buying. I am not sure if they have the pencil ready for you to try though. I had to search many stores to buy the pencil. It was not available in bestbuy, apple store and other store that checked. I had to order it online on Walmart site. I would expect accessories to be available with the product, especially the pencil as this tablet is designed for pencil use. In fact, it should come with the product (tablet). I hope the second version will have a better pencil design.

Great sound, graphic, apps preloaded and new apps Posted by: from: on I was hesitant to buy the IPad pro because of it's larger size than my older iPad. But the great sounding speakers, improved graphics, more pre loaded apps, already new apps to download for free on the web the size is irrelevant. The camera is easier to use and the pictures are outstanding. The improved keypad offers an abundance of features without having to change screens. The screen change with a single swip is wonderful. All that needs to be done is a single swipe and everywhere you have been pops up and with one touch your right back to whatever site you've been at. I have to also comment on the knowledge and patience that the staff at Best Buy offered and the convenience of having the Geek Squad on site for technical assistance. I purchased a new cover and screen protector that they installed within minutes for a very good price and guarantee.

Love at first sight...Then I picked it up. Posted by: from: on I absolutely love my new iPad Pro. I upgraded from the first iPad air model and I'm very happy with the change. At first sight the iPad Pro was a little larger then I would have wanted but I did like the size increase from my air and now that I'm used to it the large screen doesn't seem to be as much of an issue anymore but the weight of the iPad is not something I can get used to. That being said I am very happy with my upgrade even though I feel $1000 was a little much to be paying for iPad. Pros: Huge screen beautiful image quality 4 speakers! Very good sound can feel the base 128gb - yes please! That's a lot of apps and movies (114gb is what your working with) Fingerprint reader Cons: To heavy Expensive! Accessories are really expensive as well Would like to have all the upgrades that got put on the 6s. Especially since the iPad came out after the phone

Does so many things well.... Posted by: from: on As a tablet I can use it on the couch. On a desk it is well proportioned in any orientation. The screen quality is the best I've used, ever. Whether you're working on a document or playing a game, browsing the web, using a web app for work, reading a book or watching video the user experience is just great. You have to use it to understand it. In theory a tablet running Windows 10 may seem better, in reality the iPad Pro is just better.

Musician-Artist's Dream! Posted by: from: California on I bought this super-sized iPad primarily for two purposes: 1. Transfer of music from sheets and books to digital format to eliminate the hassle of lugging bulky and heavy books and notebooks of sheet music to gigs and rehearsals. 2. Use with the Apple Pencil to "paint," draw, sketch. Would be great to be able to go out to various outdoor venues to do these things without having to haul pencils, paints, paper, etc. as well as dealing with the wind blowing paper around, etc. I have ordered but not yet received the Apple Pencil, so I cannot yet speak to the usability or viability of it as a true implement of artistic expression. I am very anxious to see just what it will do, but moreover I will be interested to see how a drawing or "painting" will translate to paper when the image is printed on an inkjet printer. I wonder if it will require a high resolution printer and specialized paper. Music looks GREAT on the iPad Pro when scanned using the "Scanner Pro" and "forScore" apps. Using a bluetooth "AirTurn" foot pedal with the iPad Pro through "forScore" enables the instrumental musician to wirelessly turn pages of music hands-free which is enables a seamless performance. The musician's hands can concentrate on playing the instrument. What a concept! In addition to the wonderful experience of viewing music at a readable size on the iPad Pro, viewing web pages, YouTube videos, reading books, and playing games are more activities that are much more enjoyable due to the large screen size, sharp resolution and fast processing speed. I had the original iPad, the iPad 2, the iPad Air and most recently the iPad Air 2. I also have had all but the latest iPad Mini. I currently have the iPad Mini 3 for Verizon. The long and the short of it is that the regular-sized iPads were too small for viewing music comfortably. This iPad Pro is THE ticket for that! I traded in the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 WiFi to get this iPad Pro. Yes, I took a beating on the trade, but I am ecstatic with the Pro. It, along with the fabulous Logitech wireless keyboard/cover, make the perfect rig. I hardly ever use my 11" and 13" MacBook Air laptops anymore. The sound through the 4 speakers is a nice upgrade over the dual-speaker systems of the other iPads, however still if you want true hi-fi stereo sound you should use a good quality stereo headset. I kept the Mini 3 VZW because I love it for throwing in my purse for use when I am out of the house and away from my home WiFi. It is a great little tablet. And now the one con: The first iPad Pro I purchased would not "wake up" upon charging it after its first use. I had no idea what to do to get it to function. I was very disappointed that such an expensive device as this pooped out on me the day after I bought it! I took it back to Best Buy where they told me that "According to Apple some of these do that." It is a known issue, and if you have this problem you just perform a "hard reset" by simultaneously holding down the home button and the power button. I asked if I could exchange it for another Pro because I felt that I shouldn't be having a problem with a brand new piece -- especially at this price. In addition, once I have a problem with a tech device I will never trust it again. It makes me wonder what other problems/bugs might exist with that particular unit. These devices are highly complex, and there are a gazillion things that can go wrong with them. Best Buy's support is fabulous! Even though they were able to get the iPad to function by doing the hard reset, they understood my trust issues, and they happily exchanged it for another -- the only one in stock between the two Best Buys in my town! Lucky me! I am happy to report that I have not had any problems with the replacement iPad Pro. In fact I am writing this review on it -- using the wonderful Create Logi keyboard case by Logitech . I can type just as fast, accurately and comfortably on this keyboard as I can on my three MacBook laptops -- all of which I love. The Logi keyboard has backlit keys -- a feature not available on the Apple iPad Pro keyboard case. I HIGHLY recommend the Logi -- and it is $20 less than the Apple one. I will be writing a review of this keyboard case as well. Bottom line: I LOVE the iPad Pro! I highly recommend it -- especially to fellow musicians who will love its beautiful sharp display and ease-of-use with the Scanner Pro and forScore apps. Its great resolution is easy on the eyes, and I don't get the eye fatigue that I experience when using devices with smaller, lower resolution screens. Get it! You won't be disappointed!
