OK keyboard in field of limited choices Posted by: from: on Needed a fuller-featured keyboard for my freelancing business than the one on my MacBook Pro. There aren't a whole lot of options for Mac-friendly keyboards, so I went with this one, partly because it has 2 USB inputs, helping to make up for the MacBook's paltry 2 inputs. When I unboxed and un-shrinkwrapped it, I couldn't believe the toxic odor that came off the thing. It was horrible. I decided to let it off-gas in our guest room, and shut the door. Opened it a few hours later and the entire room was filled with the odor. So I moved it to the garage. Tried bringing it in a couple times and no dice. Finally, after almost a month, I found that it smelled only if I put my nose fairly close. Now that I'm using it, I'm not super impressed. I prefer a more substantial key response. Sometimes I hit a key and it just doesn't translate to the screen, so I need to go back and rekey or fix a word that autofill guessed at. It's better than the MacBook keyboard and was only 50 dollars, so I'll keep it.

Great Keyboard with 10 Key Posted by: from: on I have held onto my original bluetooth Apple Keyboard for years because it included the 10 key options. Even after upgrading my IMac I would still use my old keyboard. However, a recent coffee accident on my keyboard forced me to choose between bluetooth and the 10 key options. (Since all of the new Apple bluetooth keyboards do not include the 10 key options) I decided to keep the 10 key options and move toward a "plugged in " keyboard not knowing if I would like the restrictions. Honestly, I haven't looked back. It has been great. The keyboard and the functions work perfectly. I haven't once felt regret that my keyboard is now "plugged in." If you want to stick with an Apple brand keyboard and really like the 10 key options, this keyboard is for you.

Sleek / Functional and no Battery / Bluetooth prob Posted by: from: on It's been a few months I have had this and I realized that I should have just got this one the first time instead of the wireless one , but I am a very forgiving man and so I forgave myself on this error. No more annoying alerts about low battery or Bluetooth disconnect - I already have a wife , so I don't need any more annoyances in life than necessary. In conclusion, this keyboard has improved my quality of life. Feels good on the fingers , responsive and quiet . As long as your don't submerge it your coffee , this should last for a really long time unlike its wireless brother.

overpriced low quality keyboard Posted by: from: on Keyboard less reliable than wireless one. I really needed a keyboard with a keypad and figured the Apple one would be the best solution. $50 is expensive but I though I was buying a quality product. Apple's design is beautiful, but in practice, if a product breaks down after a few months of regular use, that isn't good. Maybe quality control at their Chinese plants has slipped. This morning when I tried to sign onto my computer, ½ the keys didn't work. I had to use a keyboard from another computer to be able to get onto my iMac. Hoping the keyboard is still under warranty and that the replacement one works better. Next time I will buy another brand of keyboard that has a numeric keypad and also has bluetooth.

Bad Ergonomics Posted by: from: on In general - I love apple products. I purchased this keyboard in an effort to help reduce RSI pain from using my laptop alone. Unfortunately, the keyboard is so wide that it is actually exacerbating the RSI pain when using a mouse (the mouse cannot be used in a comfortable position - it should be where the 9 key pad is.) double bummer - It took an extra week for my monitor to arrive (not from best buy) and in the waiting period my 2 week return period expired and now I'm stuck having to purchase a second keyboard. The smaller version without the 9-key is a better option for anyone who needs to operate both mouse, and keyboard. I also didn't realize that Best Buy only has a 15 day return period instead of the standard 30 :(

Love this Keyboard! BUT: Posted by: from: on I would have given this a 5 star, but this is my second keyboard in a year. DO NOT CLEAN with even a slightly damp rag, and definitely NOT with glass cleaner (ammonia). ANY moisture, even the slightest, will scramble this keyboards brain. I HIGHLY recommend a silicone keyboard cover. They are washable, will keep the keyboard dry and in good shape. It will also keep the keys free of normal wear (the "E" button - most used; the space bar, most used...etc..etc...), and is liquid and dust resistant. All-in-all though, this is an awesome keyboard, just extremely sensitive to cleaning, and with white keys, it's something that needs to be done. Bottled air is great to blow out the dust (don't forget a can before leaving the store!), but canned air is obviously not meant to clean dirty keys. I WOULDN'T recommend this keyboard commercially or in a place with dirty fingered employees. d;-)

Much better than the wireless that came with iMac Posted by: from: Bloomingdale, IL on This keyboard is so superior to the wireless one that came with my new iMac. Not only did the wireless not have a number pad (which I use all the time), for some reason the way the keys were placed my right hand always ended up one key "off." I don't have that problem with this board. It plugged right in and works great. Light touch but solid to type on - your fingers can just fly on it. Only thing that bothers me a little is the "cold steel" feel. My fingernails feel like they're scratching a chalkboard without the squeaky noise!

Would expect better quality from Apple Posted by: from: on I bought this specifically because I prefer having a separate number pad rather than the wireless keyboard that comes with MAC computers which do not have the number pad separated. This was the last one on the shelf and after a couple weeks use I noticed that the #9 key above the letter keys did not work however every time I shut down my computer upon restart the number #9 key sticks as if being held dow. I'm just disappointed because I expected much better quality from Apple than this. I could have purchase the same style keyboard made by Logictec and it was even wireless but didn't because I thought the apple would be better quality. I made the wrong choice

Very quiet keyboard Posted by: from: on I sit in a large office space with 7 other people. One of my co-workers types a lot all day long, which is fine except he has a very heavy keystroke and with the keyboard he had been using, it was grating on everyone's nerves. By the end of each day you could see the tension in all of our faces from having to listen to the click, click, click all day long. I finally decided to save our sanity and get him a new keyboard that was quieter. I looked at several models and while there were several out there that touted a quiet, almost silent keystroke, most of them cost a lot more and they were not made by Apple, Because I was worried abut compatibility I decided to get the one that was designed for the MAC and hoped that it would be quiet enough for our needs. I am very pleased to announce that our area is now very quiet and we are all at peace again. While it doesn't stop all the keystroke noise of a heavy handed user, it does cut down on the noise substantially.
