Intelligible laptop Posted by: from: on When I want to research something quickly and I don't walk into my office and log on to my MacMini. I now reach for my MacBook Air 13, its screen is just the right size, its light-weight, powers up quickly, battery last a long time, and the OS has great features that ties in with other Apple products. Do I care that it only has a 128 GB Flash Storage? No, I don't. We live in a cloud based storage environment now. I don't need to store my entire MP3 library (there's streaming music). Why store 500GB of pics and video I will never watch anyways on my computer? I like how fast it boots up and how fast I can access data. I think it is a great laptop for doing things quickly or if I am sitting on the couch. I am a Network Administrator I don't want to work on computers when I get home. I want to just get on do what I need to and then logoff. The MacBook Air does that for me.

Love it and it has been a great purchase Posted by: from: on I love how easy MacBooks are to use. You can easily switch between software with the trackpad and there is zero lag when executing processes. I love how it does't get hot in your lap. The solid state drive is the way to go. I didn't get the Retina display, but it looks great anyway. My opinion is there isn't much difference to a normal internet and software user. If you are using for graphic programs you may want to get the Pro. Can't believe I had a MacBook Pro years ago and loved it. Got a cheap Toshiba because of funds and hated it. The comparison is like the Toshiba is a really cheap mattress......You get a little comfort but in the long run it just really starts to give you pains. The MacBook Air is the expensive mattress that you just love to lay on and let out a sigh about how comfortable it is. That's how it feels when you open the laptop screen on this MacBook Air. This laptop is definitely worth every bit of debt it puts you in. Buy it, and start reading these reviews on your awesome laptop.

Awesome buy at low price Posted by: from: on Eventhough it's fall 2016 now, this Macbook air is technically a spring 2015 model. It does not have a fancy retina screen, it does not have a haptic force touch trackpad. Everything about it is old and outdated. However, for $749.99 at the time of my purchase, it was the best deal ever. You get a Core i5 with 8GB DDR3 ram and 128GB SSD hard drive. A pretty decent spec for that price. In addition, it's made by Apple so build quality is top notch. For a light user such as students who use this laptop for email, music, movies, and Microsoft Office, this is a perfect laptop for you if you can obtain it for $749.99. Anything higher, I recommend you wait it out for the newly released line of MacBook products that can offer new and updated spec.

Another Great Apple Product Posted by: from: Johnson City, NY on Over the past year or so, I have begun buying Apple products again. Outside of the Airport Extreme, I have been very pleased. This laptop has not let me down. I have a Windows Laptop, but that's more for gaming, and needed something that was portable but still has good processing power. For $750 (on sale and student discount) I couldn't pass up this laptop. Now that I'm in the Apple ecosystem, setup of this laptop was a breeze. It is very light and portable and the battery life is absolutely amazing. It is not as fast as my iMac but it still impresses me, and I have no patience for laggy laptops. It is quick enough for what I need it for, which is writing blogs, browsing the web, schoolwork, and even light video editing. I know there are new MacBooks coming out soon, but if you are looking for a solid laptop that is light and has great battery life, then I wouldn't hesitate to pick one of these up, because it is WELL worth the money.

Well worth the money Posted by: from: on I was a Mac user for 15 years before being forced to the PC world at a particular employer. I like PCs just fine, especially the desktops, but PC laptops with any good guts are heavy and hot and pricey. The Best Buy associate who helped me showed me several Chromebooks and PC laptops first, but confided he liked the MacBook the best. He demoed it, and I quickly agreed, but I was a little hesitant to spend the $200 more on it vs. a PC. I told my wife about it, who told me to quit complaining and just buy the machine I wanted since I'm a writer who uses it all the time. I'm so glad I took her advice. This is far better than any PC laptop or Chromebook I've ever owned or used. No comparison. Just spend the extra money for the better construction, performance, lightweight and portability. Can't be beat for the money.

Just as expected Posted by: from: on Lightweight. Easy to hook up to any HDMI ready TV (send both video and audio using a MiniPort to HDMI adapter). Quiet, usually noise free, operation (no spinning hard drive; and fan only engages to cool processor for certain tasks). Small (easily slips into a backpack and does not take up much room). Battery lasts 5-7 hours). Lightning fast startup time!! This thing starts up in less than 15 seconds!! Full size keyboard. Incredibly responsive track pad (way better two finger scrolling than all other brand laptops I have used -Dell, hp, Toshiba, and IBM/lenovo). Beautiful display (great resolution and easily adjust brightness according to your lighting). Meets expectations!

Great laptop for college Posted by: from: on This laptop runs much faster than my old pc, and after about a month of use, I have not encountered any problems. The 13.3" size is perfect as it is large enough to use comfortably without a monitor, but still fits nicely in my backpack. It has a great battery life and can last over a day without charging. Since this was my first apple laptop, when connecting my old wireless keyboard, I realized that there was no command key. This is not a huge issue, but if you want to be able to use shortcuts, then you need to buy an apple keyboard which I found rather irritating as they are very expensive and do not look very comfortable to use (they're very thin and flat). My only other complaint would be the lack of hdmi and ethernet ports, but these adaptors can be found on amazon for under $15. Despite these issues, I am very happy with my purchase. And a bit of advice for first time users - PLEASE CREATE YOUR OWN APPLE ID! I thought it would be okay to share an apple id with my sister and my mom, and this was probably the worst idea ever. Getting rid of all the unnecessary contacts that automatically synced to my laptop as well as constantly receiving imessages that were not for me was a huge pain and a waste of time. In the end I simply created my own account and started over, and I have not had any problems since.

Great little laptop Posted by: from: Massapequa, NY on This laptop when purchased on sale gives you fantastic "bang for your buck". MOST (but not all) people will never make full use of all the specs they "think" they need in a laptop. If you use a memory card you can store a good amount of music and photos on that leaving the 128 GB that comes on board for your programs and apps. It's super lightweight yet doesn't feel cheaply made. I love the screen and the backlit keyboard. I wish it had an ethernet port but, I hardly every use it so I can't say I miss it that much. The average person checks emails and facebook on their computer. Some people will do a little word processing and make some schools reports or flyers. This laptop is more than they will ever need.

First time Mac owner Posted by: from: on I have never owned a Mac before or even thought about getting one. But I recently enrolled in online college courses. I needed something light and portable. Better yet, reliable. I read the reviews for different pcs and looked at all the brands. They were all mixed reviews. I mean people either loved what they got or had a horrible experience.....Macs were a bit more than I wanted to spend but I decided to read the reviews anyway. The reviews were outstanding. You rarely come across a bad one. The people who rate it one star are mostly angry at best buy. Not the computer itself.....long review short this computer is incredible. I can't wait to start school so I can use it to its full potential. I highly recommend. I will never go back to PC.

Love my first Macbook Posted by: from: on This is my first MacBook. I have the iPhone 6 and an iPad, so I thought I should get something that I could use with all my devices. So glad I did! I love the features in the Mac when you have all you devices connected. It's such an ease to continue where I left off from one device to another. I can even answer my phone calls through my Mac, which I didn't think would work well through speakers but everyone tells me it sounds the same as my phone. The negative I found was during the setup, Apple is supposed to be very user friendly, and I had a really hard time getting my email to configure and had to get online support helps to figure it out. Apparently I wasn't the only one who had the same with my Apple ID and email account conflicting. It was frustrating and took hours to figure out. I also had problems with creating a second user account. It got very glitchy. I had to delete the account, shut down, and start over again, but worked perfectly fine the second time. Those were my hiccups, but I love the quality, the feel of the lightweight lap top. If portability is a big factor for you this is the best pick, so light and easy to take with you.
