Excellent! Posted by: from: on This laptop is probably the best gaming laptop I have ever owned. It very easily runs the latest games at high rates and does not get hot. I have played COD Black Ops 3 and GTA 5 both with zero lag and no heat from it. I was kinda mixed about Windows 10 as well but after using it for a while I really like it. It only has 12gb RAM however, it's DDR4 so I have no issues with it at all. The GTX 965 video card again handles anything I throw at it. The i7 speaks for itself. The screen is amazingly bright and pixel density is great. Colors are vibrant and for gaming it really just looks amazing. The speakers are very loud and crisp and i have not heard any crackles at all out of them. The battery life of this is absolutely amazing for a gaming laptop. It goes a lot longer than expected really. Like all gaming laptops it does have some weight to it. Again expected for a gaming laptop so not an issue. The only problem is finding a bag as with all ROGs the body is bigger than that of a normal 17.3" but if you search around an 18.4 bag/backpack fits it perfectly. Overall I am very impressed with this laptop the style, the functionality, everything. If your looking for an amazing gaming machine this is it and I would definitely recommend it.

Great for gaming (ESO example in review) Posted by: from: on I bought this for my son and he loves it...he can play everything he's downloaded so far from steam at max graphics and he also plays Skyrim and Oblivion at max graphics with no lag. He's also download Shaders(?) for Minecraft and they all work great. I've played Elder Scrolls online with it and had no issues at all with lag (screen never stops to load while running around). To give an example from the game...with maxed everything (shadows, water, distance, etc...) and my steeds speed maxed at 60%, I can run through Glenumbra at full speed and npc's ahead of me load before I get there. I personally play on a laptop with 4k ultra graphics and had no idea before this new laptop that the movement could be so fluid and smooth (found out the hard way that just cause it's a 4k card doesn't mean it's meant for gaming). In ESO. the fps tend to be around 30 and I've maxed out in a dungeon while standing still at 100.

Fantastic Portable Gaming Computer Posted by: from: on This computer is fantastic for someone looking to do some gaming on the go. The problems with most other "gaming" computers that I've used has been heat; after only an hour or two, it will heat up the bottom of the computer, which is uncomfortable for the user and potentially dangerous to the unit. With the Asus ROG series, the GIANT exhaust fans prevent this. Gaming performance was excellent! Scored mine for $250 at the time, which is more than a great value. The only con is the battery; I would think doing only simple web browsing it would have at least a 5-6 hour battery but it estimated only about 2.

TV tray/Laptop/Smooth operator Posted by: from: on Had this computer for a few weeks now and it runs nearly every game I throw at it without a problem. Plus it's large enough to accommodate a place setting for dinner. Kidding aside, I love the full-size keyboard, large screen and dedicated fans. The battery life is sad, but then given the great performance, that's an understandable trade-off. Trying to find bags and covers which fit the laptop has become a bit of an issue though. This is definitely a desktop replacement but you sacrifice some portability. It's basically a much more portable desktop, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Excellent laptop Posted by: from: on This is a great laptop. It has many upgrade options available: you can add 2 m.2 SSD's, 2 extra RAM modules, and upgrade the SATA hard drive. I added a Samsung 950 pro m.2 drive and this laptop is blazingly fast. It is a little large and heavy, but it is worth it for the power and options. Beautiful display, especially when calibrated. It would be even better if it had a 970 or 980 graphics chip, but for most the 965 is more than adequate. It was good enough to replace our desktop system. It's that good.

Malfunctioned / Went Dead after 6 months. Posted by: from: on Has a nice matted non reflective screen. Computer is pretty fast. After a few months Minecraft started to lag. After 6 months of carrying it around and using it to play Minecraft, programming and other applications, the computer would not boot-up into Window 10. The Asus 1 year warranty permitted BestBuy to fix it. They replaced the motherboard. memory and hard drive but the computer still did not work as we received the BSOD. They sent it in to re-fix the computer, but I received a refund instead. Asus tech support was completely useless and wasted a lot of my time. Prior to refund could not use the for almost 2 weeks.

As advertised and even better. Posted by: from: on The staff on the floor up to management was part of my experience and it was excellent which led me to my selection based on what I needed which was lots of memory and something that also was designed for picture resolution and image quality. Everything on this computer is better than advertised. If you want a fast no nonsense laptop that yields to nothing and has the capacity to add on anything you need and still have tons of memory, this computer will not disappoint. Thank you Best Buy in Eatontown, NJ.

Perfect for the price! Posted by: from: on I needed a laptop to run adobe cc and my games, but i did not want to spend $2,000 on a Alienware. This laptop has far surpassed my expectations, it can run all adobe programs i use, and i have got it to run new games on higher settings (Arma 3, Fallout 4, etc...) and still have no major slowdowns, or any heating problems. One thing that others have mentioned is that it is bigger than normal, that's because the graphics card requires a big cooler to keep it from overheating the whole laptop, so keep this in mind when buying a bag or carrying case for this. Overall this laptop keeps surprising me with its power, especially at its price.

Wow Posted by: from: on I had bought an HP ;laptop and had trouble with the hinges breaking. So I was looking for a more robust laptop. A gaming laptop is very robust. I don't game but it has everything you could want and it is very robust. I did have a little trouble but ASUS tech support was the best I have ever dealt with and was able to fix my computer in a matter of minutes.

Beautiful performance & great price for gaming sys Posted by: from: on This is my 1st gaming pc and I am highly satisfied with how it handles games. As flawlessly as a console. I use Steam, so the only issue is when they decide to update, the game (Resident evil 6) jams. Office 2016 works beautifully on this system. As well as other apps. The only one I find faulty so far is Microsoft Edge, which jams and crashes too often. Seems like an app issue. Ultra HD Screen resolution is outstanding. System runs quiet and cool. And I love the backlights on back of the monitor and in the keyboard. The keyboard is really comfortable and easy to press. I love my Asus.
