Cute Little Bugger
Posted by: Cinnamon from: on
I bought this little thing for writing, reading and movie/TV watching in bed, and it is perfect. The keyboard is a perfect fit for my hands, and I can write for hours. The audio quality is better than any other laptop I have used. Screen quality is excellent, but I would suggest getting a protector ASAP, because it attracts dust like crazy. It's battery life is about ten hours, and it charges up lightning fast even if you're using it. I like being able to fold it every which way.
If you have any tabs open with HTML5, be prepared for it to run out of memory. With a small amount of RAM, this is not unexpected.
The only think I would change is the track pad. It responds well to your finger moving across it, but it has no left/right buttons. You need to use a firm hand to click anything. But since it has a touch screen and is mouse compatible, that is not a big issue.
I love it.

Great Laptop For College Student!
Posted by: LoralieTheButterfly from: on
I went into Best Buy looking for something small, but in high rating quality for class. I had a huge toshiba laptop and I just didn't want to lug that thing around campus. I really wasn't planning to spend over $200 for a laptop since I knew I'd only use it to take notes and write papers on google docs... But when I saw this product, I instantly fell in love and wanted one for myself. It's very light, fast working, and super fun to play with since you can fold it, AND it's a touch screen. It doesn't look cheap, and it sure doesn't act cheap. It's great for surfing the web, watching netflix, and writing papers. Once this one is out of date, I am definitely going for newer version! I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you just need something light, and dependable for work/school.

The best Chromebook at this price
Posted by: Framea from: on
I picked this up refurbished for $170 and it exceeded all my expectations.
- Screen quality. It's not washed out like most Chromebooks. Sharp and colors are crisp.
- Touch screen is very convinient.
- Tablet mode is very useful with some apps.
- Swing screen for convenient video watching
- Android apps support. Makes it so much more powerful.
- keyboard quality and layout
- Screen size. Like most Chromebooks the screen is a bit small. This Chromebook is very portable and light as a tradeoff its harder to use as a laptop when using some productivity applications.
- Keyboard size. If you type a lot it might be a bit cramped. For me it wasn't a real problem
- Not all Android apps work properly yet. For example Googlev Earth.
In conclusion - unless the screen size really bothers you, this is the best Chromebook you can buy maybe with the exception of the Pixel which cosst many times more.

Portable and convenient
Posted by: Sep4 from: on
I purchased this to work while not at home and for around the house. The Google drive sync between devises is very nice since I use several computers. I have not used the flip feature much and the keys feel strange on the back when holding in flipped mode. The applications available in the Chrome store serve most all of my needs and wants. The combination of track pad and touch screen makes a nice interface, but smudges get left on the screen.
I like the security of guest browsing where everything (viruses etc.) is deleted when you exit. You can download a file to a USB drive if needed.
Pros: light weight, small, fast startup, guest browsing, google drive, long battery life, nice display.
Cons: small keyboard( that is a given ) , keys on back when flipped.

Great for college!!
Posted by: Jeff from: on
We purchased the recommended laptop for my son's first year of school. What he actually found, was that the laptop was overkill, overly heavy, and mostly not necessary. 2nd year...Enter the Asus Flip Chromebook. All their assignments are on Google Docs. This machine is surprisingly fast, light to carry, and as per my son, "It's perfect for how I need to use it"! Check with your child's college, and determine what's really needed to accomplish required assignments. This thing works well!! One note... He does have his gaming PC at school, also, for some down time. After 2 months of class time, the Asus Flip Chromebook, has exceeded expectations!

AWESOME LITTLE CHROMEBOOK!
Posted by: BUYER42 from: on
I purchased this Chromebook for travel. I like to be able to access email, Facebook and want to play Facebook games. I have been disappointed with the tablet I purchased, which will not play games that require flash. My Asus Chromebook does everything I want it to do. When I opened the box, all I needed to do was turn it on. It is not fancy, but it can play my Pet City game on Facebook. It searches the internet and lets me access my email. I even find myself using it at home when I want to just hang out in bed or in my recliner. I love the touch screen and the fact that I can flip it so that it works like a tablet. Also, the battery seems to last really well. I have not had it on consistently, but with using it for a half hour or so at a time, it is a long time in between charges.

Chromebooks get better and better
Posted by: YarculDragonlord from: on
I have been an avid Chromebook user since they were first released. Each generation has improved on the last. With the introduction of this ASUS 2 in 1 Chromebook with touch screen technology, my work life has been a breeze. As an inventory control person who must maintain accurate inventories in a warehouse without scanners or QRI access, I have come to rely on this device. I have to create meaningful inventory statements and cost analyses for the Administrative team and this device allows me to complete all these tasks.
I inventory in ten different storage locations, some with wireless access and some without. This device allows me to work offline and then either upload through the limited wireless in the Admin area, or through my ethernet line. Although the Chromebook is not compatible with our server technology, so I cannot access my server files through the device, since I use Google's online suite for real-time inventory updates and control, this is not a problem.
Way to go ASUS.

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Asus Flip 2-in-1 10.1 Touch-Screen Chromebook.
When my beloved ole' MacBook died, I was in a bind: I needed a laptop for work and personal productivity, but couldn't afford an exact replacement.
Behold, the Chromebook. I researched this concept and grew comfortable with it. A wonderful Best Buy employee helped me narrow my search.
I immediately fell in love with my new computer. It turns on and off instantly. Its software automatically updates, with no wait. Its screen offers a crisp, beautiful image. Its innards make NO noise! It does not heat up. It is not loaded with excessive software that you will never use~ only very functional basics. By downloading Chromebook apps, you customize your already-streamlined experience.
I absolutely recommend this Chromebook. To everyone. For every reason!!

very nice chromebook
Posted by: Will40 from: Boston on
I've had this for about a month. so far it's met all expectations.
cons: if you can get the 4G RAM version do so... while the 2G RAM version does well on most occasion it does start to hiccup with a lot of tabs open. but if you aren't one that will be using it as major work horse then 2G version is fine but for only $20 it's kind of a no brainer to go with the 4G
size: it's 10.6 inches so you do have to keep that in mind, it competes great against tablets but if using it in Tablet mode is more of an afterthought than I would look for something larger. If you do flip between both PC mode and Tablet mode than this is great. very portable and great to prop up and watch a movie and other videos
Track pad: track pad isn't as flowing as the Samsung 11.6 of 2 years ago. it's still not a bad track pad by any stretch it just takes a little more pressure as opposed to my old Samsung who's track pad was fantastic.
Pros: build quality. nice brushed aluminum body feels and looks premium. very nice keyboard. Screen is really nice colors are rich and accurate, blacks are deep, very good view angles . only knock is it good be a little brighter.
Price : inexpensive for a 2 in 1 convertible with this build quality and screen.
Overall I enjoy this machine very much.

Android apps make Chromebooks more awesome
Posted by: JBoy from: on
Right now this is the only model Chromebook that can install the experimental Chrome OS and run Android apps. I have Microsoft Office 365 from work, and running the Word app is SO much better than the online version. (I like Word because I often have need for columns, which Google Docs and online Word can't do). Who needs a laptop? Not me.
