Best Buy Customer Reviews

I had gotten a pair of urBeats a few years back and loved them. They lasted me over two years before one of the earbuds stopped working. The sound quality is incredible and far exceeds any other earbuds I have used before. Before I buckled down and bought these from Best Buy, I had ordered some off of Amazon. Had I never owned a pair of urBeats before, I would have never realized the ones Amazon sent me were not the real thing!! The Best Buy employees are always so friendly and helpful, I should have just bought them there from the beginning. Of course I sent the Amazon ones back and went into Best Buy to purchase these. Like I said before, the sound quality is AMAZING. I'm not sure why one of the buds in my previous pair stopped working but they lasted over 2 years before that happened so... I would still recommend these. You won't be disappointed.

Earbuds fail after just 2 months usage
Posted by: Matetraxx from: on
I purchased a set for everyone in my family as a gift. In just a couple of months 3 of them already have one side not working and needing warranty repair! Great sound quality. The best on the market for this type of product but life span and durability is down the drain. For the price point I should have at least gotten a year of usage out of them.

A solid pair of headphones
Posted by: Dvilla1625 from: on
I bought these and overall I do believe they are a good pair of in ear headphones. I personally think over ear headphones sound better, but if your looking for in ear headphones than you can work out with and are a little cheaper, then these are the way to go. In all honesty they are bass concentrated and you get bass even when your not looking for it, but isn't that what we expect out of Dre's beats? I didn't expect anything different. Bass sounds amazing with hip hop and pop. If your looking for an overall good headphone I would get the Bose ie2, but keep in mind that the ie2 are not made for noise reduction so if your running and have the Bose in then you can hear cars and other outside sounds. Which I didn't like. I personally am a fan of these beats more. But i like hip hop more than most. Overall these are great headphones and they are durable. If your worried about durability then get the insurance, it's only $14.99 people. Good deal.

not worth the money
Posted by: corprolalia from: washington, dc on
had these just for 2 days. i compared these with both the bose ie2 and the skullcandy titans. this is an honest opinion so please read.
these headphones are not worth $100. the construction of them are great, they feel durable in your hands and you can tell monster spent time in building the headphones, but from there it goes downhill. the sound quality on these headphones is terrible, and i mean terrible. i played an even number of hiphop and alternative tracks with both the urbeats and the skullcandy titans (bose earphones i returned due to absolutely no bass, very good mids and highs). the skullcandy titans outperformed the urbeats, and are only half the price. first, the bass on the urbeats sound muddy, and it drowns out the mids and the highs, there were not clear at all. the highs sounded like they were tangled with the mids, and it didnt sound clear at all. on the other hand, the skullcandy titans surprisingly had a better definded bass sound, as well as crystal clear highs and mids.
generally speaking, if you don't compare earphones you will never know who has the best sound quality. in the end, if you wanna be stylish and have people notice u have beats by dre, then by all means go for these. but if your looking for sound quality, there was no comparison, the urbeats did poorly against the skull candy titans. if you don't believe me, just purchase a couple different earphones and compare yourself, you will see if you took the "beats by dre" logo off of the headphones, the urbeats would be priced at probaly $30-$50" at most, thats how bad the sound quality is.

A great buy
Posted by: AppleCusty from: Coconut Creek, FL on
First I want to say that I normally do not write reviews, but since I have gone thru at least 6 earphones / headphones in the last year I might as well.
I purchased these after returning the Souls, PowerBeats, Jaybirds and a few others.
Now I know beats is more about style and name brand but hey they look good and sound amazing as well!
The PowerBeats were my favorites but the remote on it would go bad, not sure if its from the sweat but it was really annoying and they are suppose to be waterproof.
I have only had the UrBeats for about a week now but so far I have no complaints at all. The quality looks and feels amazing. I have always been a sucker for the Black and Red scheme and this one has a better looking and feeling remote.
I would recommend for anyone looking to upgrade factory earphones who doesn't mind paying a little more. (Don't forget to get with protection plan just incase)

Good sound, not the best construction
Posted by: JennaS from: on
Overall the sound quality of urBeats is great. These fit great and they're the only in-ear headphones I've found that I can comfortably sleep in (noisy SF neighborhood). They cut out pretty much all background noise. However, they aren't perfect. I bought my first pair a year or two ago and have had to replace them many times (thank god for insurance). The straight up and down jack means that the cable tends to short out after a while because it bends, rendering one or both ears useless (90 degree jack would be helpful). Also, the controls like to stop working after a few months of regular use. They still tangle up when I take them out of my purse (even when I wind them up beforehand). Buuuuut, they still have mega sound quality and are the most comfortable. I've also tried Bose, Kliptch, Skull Candy, Sol and they're fine for a few hours but my beats are comfortable all day and all night. I just wish they lasted more than 6-7 months. I guess I'm just too hard on them...

The usual suspect by Beats.
Posted by: WhiteNinja from: Bronx, NY on
Beats by Dr. Dre actually made a halfway decent pair of earbuds. Much better feeling, looking & sounding than the original iBeats. Better earbuds out there for the same price or less. But if you are a Beats by Dr. Dre fan & you just can not bring yourself to step outside your Beats by Dr. Dre Comfort Zone, then these will be perfect for you. Better than the Tours. I've done reviews on earbuds that cost half the price and sounded much better. But I understand if you just like one brand. I'm a sucker for new, hot, cool & fresh gadgets, etc. Not saying these suck. Just saying that there are better earbuds out there for less. But these are surprisingly nice for a Beats by Dr. Dre product. For the price, I was not blown away, nor was I dissatisfied. The durability is always an issue with Beats By Dr. Dre in-ears. But warranty from Best Buy should quell any trepidation.

A Bose Convertee
Posted by: Spoogie57 from: San Francisco on
I had a pair of Bose Headphones that shorted out on me after about a Year (very disappointed). I have 2 Co-workers who have Beats Headphones, &I read many reviews, before buying them. When I got my URBeats in-ear buds, I had 2 cocerns, the sound, & if they would stay in. I didn't find out either, until I bought them. From the 1st time I listened to my music from my HTC One, until now, I am still amazed at how rich & undistorted the Bass is. Always had problems with Ear Buds staying in, but URBeats is true to the word. I slowly take them out each time, because the suction is so strong. I use these everyday! Only issue I have, is only being able to use the Pause/Play function with the Remote. Would really like to use the Volume Control, & Skip to Next Track. Thanks.

great sound, horrible reliability
Posted by: BigDaveZJ from: on
Went through two pairs of these before giving up. First pair had issues with the speakers cutting in and out. Second pair lasted about 6 months before completely losing the right speaker. Both sets saw fairly limited use and were not abused. You'd think for the price, and the quality of the sound, they could come up with some wires that won't lose the connection to the speakers.
