Meh! Posted by: from: Memphis on Wasn't really a huge fan of this one. Needed a new router because my old Netgear was glitchy dropping signals. So, bought this one because it was a good price for a Mid-tier AC1200 router. Got it home and immediately I wasn't a fan of it having 1 light on it to indicate everything. I shouldn't have to need a map color legend to decipher what the different color lights mean. Looks like they were trying to be cheap with the one light node. Setup was a bit difficult in terms of setting up a router. You can't really understand what's going on or how it's booting because of the 1 light indicator (argh) Long story short, ironic all my older Netgear N600 router still outperformed a newer Belkin AC1200. Took that thing back the next day. When customer service asked me what was wrong and I told her, she said "yeah, go with a Netgear or Lynksis in terms of routers." Funny she says that, my previous 3 yr old Netgear router is still better than this one. This may be a good entry level router for someone just starting out. But if you've had a previous one, don't think you'll like this. Hope this helps!!!

AC+ label but more ike BGN Posted by: from: on Bought this router after three years using a Belkin NB650. I wanted gigabit hardwire connections and the dual channels. The 2.4GHz channels runs like a champ the 5GHz channel is all but useless it could be this unit but the 5GHz channel on the older one was iffy also. Other than the lack of 5GHz channel for true AC+ capability it is a smart router that allows for full access management and configuration. I employ MAC ID filtering to further lock things down (i live in an apt bldg) along with the various encryption types and never a throughput issue. For best performance leave the 5GHz channel OFF just use the 2.4GHz channel in 20/40 mode. I may return this and get a different brand router to compare but overall its a good router just not really a AC+ router

Looses internet connection everyday, Terrible! Posted by: from: on NO MORE BELKIN ROUTERS. I bought this router last year, connection was good for a while, now everyday the router has TO be reset because of loss of internet connection. Called Belkin to troubleshoot, they said it's the cable company's problem. I had someone from India, sorry but that made for TERRIBLE service. I couldn't understand her english at all. Called my cable company, they said it's a router problem. Great, stuck with an very expensive router that keeps timing out.

Not as good as advertised Posted by: from: on Set up was very easy, as advertised and dashboard very easy to manipulate. I was able to view all the wireless devices that were connected, viewing by Mac addresses and names (if identified). Setting static IP addresses was very easy but i elected to keep several devices on the DHCP and it easily assigned those IP addresses. It performed very well in this arena. However, the range is not as good as reported and not as good at the Netgear wireless router it replaced. I placed the router in a 2nd story bedroom/office and could to get signal in the basement and encountered intermittent connectivity issues on the main floor. The Netgear gave me consistent signal all around my home, on all levels as well as in close proximity outside my home.

Very poor wireless speed and horrible cust.service Posted by: from: on I bought this router because we needed a new one and was told this would be perfect for the number and types of devices we have (5 game systems, 2 tablets, and a desktop). Well fast forward a few months and I upgrade to Suddenlink 20mbs speed and the router from that point forward begins to mess up. It constantly disconnects from the modem and its speed gets no higher than 50mbs when it claims to be able to handle up to 300mbs. In talking with customer service I can barely understand them, they talked in circles, hung up on me several times and made me go through hoops for a replacement. Needless to say I will be trashing this router and getting a better one.

Solid Router, Worthless Features Posted by: from: on So today I purchased a Belkin router. AT&T provided me with a new modem last week and the WiFi signal was extremely weak. I loved the fact that it was dual-band router and had 2 USB ports (1 3.0 and 1 2.0) on the back. The reason I opted for this router over an access point is because I wanted to be able to plug in an old hard drive I have laying around and use it for network storage. Apparently Belkin doesn't care about their software and has not updated the drivers to work with any OS X past 10.7 (Or past Windows 8). Which is unreal. So basically the USB ports on the back of the router are completely worthless. This was confirmed by Belkin Customer Support who said "our software team is working on it and you may see a driver update in the future". Well its been over half a year since OS X 10.11 came out. I am astounded. There is a 30-day return policy that I will be absolutely taking advantage of..

Not all devices connecting; short range Posted by: from: on I chose the Belkin AC router to replace an older Belkin N router. I connected the router and it did it's firmware upgrade. Everything seemed good, until I realized that many of our home devices don't connect. A smart TV, one of our laptops, and a tablet won't connect. They don't recognize the 5GHz band and cant connect to the 2.4GHz band. The range is bad too. The old Belkin router reached across the house, while this one barely manages to reach with 1 bar. If I keep this router, I will have to buy an extender. This makes me consider returning the Belkin and buying the another brand AC1200 with external antenna for a little bit more.

Wouldn't recommend Posted by: from: on Followed directions exactly and could not get it to work. Called the help desk (800 number). One hour and 45 minutes later doing the same thing over and over, then getting referred to a supervisor to do the same procedures multiple times - never did work. Wasted over 3 hours of my time plus the frustration of trying to work with people I could barely understand. Horrible experience.

No Thanks, Belkin Posted by: from: on I bought this router because of the "award-winning" status and the dual-band features. The price really seemed right compared to other routers, so I grabbed it. A little background: I've always had fairly bad experiences with Belkin products, from wired routers to audio cables and adapters to power cords but I thought maybe things had gotten better. They haven't. The management software for this router is awful. The wizard interface usurps all control for users who want more than just an out-of-the-box WiFi network. Navigating the software was clunky and it was difficult to find anything I was looking for. They obviously spent more time designing the UI (buttons and layout are actually quite beautiful for router firmware) and not enough time thinking through how people will want to use it. I returned this router and got myself an ASUS AC68U instead. I couldn't be happier that I made that decision!

Great buy Posted by: from: on This router works well for me, does not have a long distant range though, looks awesome and it was a breeze to set up with the instructions. It has different bands and I hook up the direct line to my tv downstairs because it seem like I was having weak singnals to that tv, all the phones and other devices works well on this wireless router.
