For example, dual-band devices may use one 2.4 and one 5 GHz band, while tri-band devices may use one 2.4 and two 5 GHz bands. Multiple bands also provide more flexibility for designating connected devices to specific band use.)
    • Ethernet Standard: 10/100/1000 (Each standard is a variation of the IEEE 802.3 set of computer networking technologies known as Ethernet. New versions evolved to include higher bandwidth, different physical media, and other new and improved features. Standards are often denoted by speeds (in Megabits per second). For example, a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port transmits at 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps).)
    • Number of Antennas: 0
    • Frequency Band: 2.4 GHz, 5.0 GHz (Bands may be grouped into categories such as low- and high-band VHF (Very High Frequency), low- and high-band UHF (Ultra High Frequency), or certain frequency channels (measured in MHz or GHz). Generally, higher frequencies transmit information faster but have shorter range than lower frequencies.)
    • Wireless Networking Standard: Wi-Fi 5 (The wireless networking standard used by the device. Each iteration of the standard developed by the Wi-Fi Alliance corresponds to an existing IEEE 802.11 protocol; for example, standard 802.11ac (or AC) is termed Wi-Fi 5. Refers specifically to the standard the device is designed to use, but ultimately determines product interoperability and backward compatibility including previous versions.)
    • Wireless Standard: AC (The wireless networking protocol used by the device. Each iteration of the protocol is based on the 802.11 standard developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards Association. Denoted by letters following 802.11 (802.11a, 802.11ac, etc.), each version, published in alphabetical order, encompasses all previous versions.)
    • Wi-Fi Mesh System: false (A single wireless network consisting of a main router (connected directly to a modem) that connects to a series of satellite modules or nodes placed around the home. Routers with this capability promote stronger, faster wireless signals as well as increase Wi-Fi coverage by reducing interference and eliminating dead zones.)
    • Ethernet Switch: true (Connects multiple devices to expand the Local Area Network (LAN).)

  • Features
    • App Compatible: false (The product can be connected to a program or software application on a mobile device, which then receives collected data from the product.)
    • Beamforming: true (A signal processing technique that enables a router to focus a Wi-Fi signal in a specific direction. The router determines where a connected device in the network is located and projects a stronger signal in that specific direction. This can result in faster and higher quality data transfer as well as reduced signal interference.)

Q: How many feet out does the signal go?

A: I have a small house, 1300 sf and it works fine everywhere inside, as well as on my deck and driveway. your mileage may vary...

Q: Is this router also a modem?

A: No. You connect it to your modem for wireless connections.

Q: What internet provider can I use with this? And is this WiFi a one time buy or are there monthly fees?

A: This WiFi + router requires you to have Internet already, and it has to be wired to the Internet to work. It is not a modem, it is a router. You must have a modem already from either your Internet Provider, or one you purchased and have set up with your Internet Provider. This gives you WiFi if you do not have WiFi but do have Internet. As far as I know, it will work with any Internet provider in the USA, but you must have a modem already to connect it to, or a Modem/Router combination. If you are looking to replace your Internet Service Providers, modem, then you need a Modem or Modem/Router that will work with your ISP.

Q: I have a router that belongs to my internet provider. Can I use this router along with my current router, as a booster?

A: Yes, Sandi. Check this link out for the steps in connecting a Belkin router to another router: http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=8179.

Q: How many devices can I use at once?

A: Small business owner here - I'm currently rocking my DirecTV genii DVR and Sony wireless DVD on the 5 gHz "media" version of my network, while 2 laptops, 3 phones, a Canon printer and an LG and Samsung E tablet are connected on the regular 2.5 gHz network. I have people bring their laptops over to work on top of that and there's no slowdown in connection.

Q: Have just updated Mac to Sierra. My Cisco router gave out and bought Cisco Valet. Cannot connect to this operating system because requires 10.4.9 or later. OS for Sierra is 10.12. I just want to know whether this router will support Sierra.

A: Hi, Swiffer1234. Yes, you should still be able to connect your Mac running on Sierra to your Valet. However, you can't install Linksys Connect on your Mac. For instructions on how to setup your Valet without running Linksys Connect, check out this link: http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-article?articleNum=137563

Q: Does this router work with Windows 10

A: Yes, it does, Jen. This Belkin router works with most Windows and MAC operating systems.

Q: Will this work with a Roku Ultra LD system?

A: Hi, Crazykat. Any device with an Ethernet/LAN connection should work with the Belkin F9K1113 router but, we recommend that you check with the manufacturer of your Roku for compatibility.
