Q: How do I know how many Tablespoons do I need to put compared to the ratio of water? Suppose I want to make 4 cups of coffee. Wich is the minimum cups allowed with black-decker-mill-brew-12-cup-coffeemaker.

A: Most coffee producers recommend 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Approximately the same for whole beans if you have grinder.

Q: What is the minimum number of cups you can make with the grinder, and still make a good cup of coffee?

A: Thank you for your interest. The minimum number of cups you can brew is four cups.

Q: can you brew coffee without using the the perminate filter;using the paper filter

A: I use a #4 cone paper filter which FITS the permanent filter/grinder basket,. I actually buy GROUND coffee and have not used the grinder.

Q: Can this be used with already ground coffee? Or just with beans?

A: Thank you for your question, Mel. This Mill & Brew coffee maker can be used with pre-ground coffee. The grinder can be turned off prior to beginning the brewing process.

A: Thank you for your interest in this Black + Decker Mill & Brew coffee maker. The water or liquid will not contact aluminum at any time during the brewing or holding. The coffee will exit the showerhead between 195°-205° (F). Once brewed from the basket into the carafe, the coffee will hold between 175°-185° (F). Q: Does the auto-timer first grind, then, brew the coffee? That is, does it do all for you? Or, do you have to grind, put the ground coffee in the filter, then, set to auto-start the next day?

A: Thanks for your question. This Mill and Brew will allow you to program the coffee maker to both automatically grind and then brew.
