Excellent Game! Posted by: from: College Station, TX on This kind of game is best enjoyed with a few friends to play together. It's still fun as a single player game, but you'll miss out on the sheer craziness that happens when you have 2 or more (up to 4!) players. Like the first Borderlands, this is what Gearbox terms a 1st Person Shooter RPG. That means you see the game through the character's viewpoint and that you level up skills, damage and health by getting experienced through killing baddies and finishing quests. This game has a very stylized look to it, as opposed to super-realistic graphics. Though it does look a little cartoony at first glance, it's look is part of its charm along with its humor and game play. If you're tentative about trying this game out, see if you can get your hands on the first Borderlands which should be pretty cheap and is also a load of fun. Note: This game is not at all appropriate for kids or even young teens (it is rated M for Mature).

Great Co-Op game Posted by: from: Menifee, CA on Borderlands 2 is a great FPS shooter and contains hours of fun game-play. Searching for better weapons is one of the main priorities that has become part of my play time. I enjoyed the storyline and there are so many side quest to expand the hours of play for this game. I think it is a huge step up from the first Borderlands and look forward to the DLC that will be released in the coming months.

Better than other Borderland games Posted by: from: Longboat Key, FL on Graphics, Guns, Goals, ... I have only just started playing in earnest but this is one of the more fun games I have played - I compare it to the Fallout series of Games but with the slant that this takes places in another world (another planet- not earth) but the characters are (like) Earthlings travelling to this planet to explore and plunder its riches. Character selection is par for Borderland games and the number of Weapons available based on the in-game weapon creation system is what I find to be one of the best parts of the game as literally millions of weapons can be created at random with the system this games uses ( as well as other borderland games)... As I play further, i may update my findings and ratings but so far 5/5, 10/10 One of the BEST GAMES I have ever played, nay - LOVED.

Best Co-op game I have played for a while Posted by: from: Florida on I have played the story a few times on co-op and me and my friend are still entertained with it. Usually after a play through or two, we move on to something else. This game has managed to keep us interested for a few play through's and I see a 4th in the near future. You spend your time leveling up, gaining xp, going on missions. You get to upgrade your armor, weapons, etc.. as you go. The co-op is setup to allow you and your friend to always remain at the same point. Example: if you turn in a mission your friend also gets the turn in, same works for you when they turn it in. The best part is the different weapons and pick ups as the guns get pretty insane the higher level you get. I would suggest picking this up if you are looking for a good co-op with the a high replay value.

Bigger and Better Posted by: from: Houston, TX on If you enjoyed the first one you will enjoy this one. Everything is bigger and better here. More guns. More great characters. More variety in the environments. More hilarious (and even better!) writing referencing all kinds of pop culture. Even more awesome loot. This game just rocks. Definitely better with friends but I enjoy it solo as well so you can take it all in. I honestly don't have anything to complain about in this game. It is a delicious mash-up of RPG and FPS. I love it. Absolutely worth the money and time. In this game the violence strikes me a lot more than the first. Mature audiences only. Please don't buy this for young kids. Be a good parent. Also 96.5% More Wub Wub!

Worst Bug I've Encountered in 23 Years of Gaming Posted by: from: LA on This game may have been fantastic, and it may even be other players' game of the year, but for me and quite a few others, it will not load past the "press start" screen because of a bug that has not been addressed since launch. If you go to Gearbox's own technical support forums for the game as of this post, you will see a thread that's got 800 replies with 55,000 views and growing, along with many new people creating accounts each day just to voice their frustration over a bug that renders the game completely useless (it is linked to the player's profile and affects this game alone). That's right: Gearbox shipped a game that contains a bug that freezes the game at the "press start" screen, and it still contains that same exact bug as of this post. Many people have had a hellish time corresponding with Gearbox and 2K over the issue, and most of those people have said that they will never buy another product from either company again after their dismissive and accusatory response to those affected by the bug. I will say one thing for myself: if I EVER buy another game from Gearbox, it will be pre-owned from Best Buy after Gearbox has had a solid year or however long it takes them to patch a game into standard-functioning condition. After this experience, I will not give that company another cent of my money. But if you think I have fabricated any part of this review, please feel free to stop by a Gearbox forums thread titled "Borderlands 2 Freezing" and investigate this yourself: you will likely be very surprised with what you find.

This game has it all!! Posted by: from: Las Cruces NM on I can honestly say that this is the best shooter I've ever played. I love the last borderlands but this one improves on it in almost every way. Multiplayer is hell of fun and there's nothing like finding a really great weapon that you've been looking for for ever. New weapons always feel unique and leveling is a constant goal. The areas in the game are all so varied that it feels fresh and there are a ton of enemy types. Also each class plays very well but all different at the same time. It's hard to put your finger on exactly what it is that makes borderlands 2 such a great game it's just fun and with the coming dlc it'll just get better .

Amazing Game!! Posted by: from: Dayton, OH on Guns, Guns and more Guns! In Borderlands 2 the variety and style of Guns is amazing. Love the gameplay and story mode. They have updated the character classes and the new Gunzerker class is cool, duel weapons deffinetly plays to an advantage when playing with friends online. Its fun to play online, using different classes to team up against the bad guys. One of the nice things about the game is it seems to neverend. The amount and variety of loot, guns and modes will make you want to play for hours. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes first person shooters/Role playing games. Only complaint I have (Best Buy) is like everyone else. Why does it take 24hours to get a redem code? Finally got my code but again 24-48hr wait, really?
