A: According to the Brother website, this model is also capable of duplex (two-sided) scanning via the 35-page document feeder. Their website also has the correct demo video (unlike the BestBuy site) and it shows this feature in action.

A: The included toner yielded slightly more than 1,000 pages for me, but that will vary depending on page content. The "High Yield" toner is part number TN660 and is rated at over 2,500 pages -- the average price is about $45, or about 2 cents per page. A: I have a Mac Computer (late 2012) with OS X El Capitan. It works well, but You Have to update to the latest Software Package AND FIRMWARE . Both can be downloaded on the Brother's Product support website or if you are more comfortable to get assistance from Brother phone support, they will guide you through these installations. If you do not update to the latest FIRMWARE & SOFTWARE, your printer will continue to lose communications.
Q: Can I copy and print on this printer without a computer hooked up?
A: When this is alone you can use the feeder tray or the flatbed to scan and print a document, yes.
