This show reminds me a lot of Bleach. The experienced girl finds the amateur guy with unreal power. She tries to protect him from her dangerous world, but he forges ahead, anyway. Buso Renkin has some of its own touches that still make it special. I just think that, if you like Bleach, you'll like this, too. The English voice cast portray their characters very well. The voices match the characters and the characterizations are on point. Those are important points when the characters are as colorul as they are in this show. For example, one character loves to say "Bravo" so much that he ends every other sentence with it; one character has head shaped like the moon (his name is... Moon Face) and his voice is based on Julia Child; then, there's Papillon, the slighlty effeminate, narcissistic, psychopath nemesis to the hero. That said, my only big complaint about the show is the name pronunciation by some of the dub cast. I watched one episode in English and switched to Japanese for the rest (and I always prefer dubs if they're watchable). I'm going back to watch it over in English, but I caught some of the voice work in one of the nice bonus features. The quality of the battles ramps up over the course of the series, so far, getting bigger and more interesting with each new fight. Outside of the action scenes, there is enough goofy comedy to keep you entertained, but not so much that it ever overshadows the serious side of the show. Each of the 3 discs in this package has an episode commentary and the final disc also has a behind the scenes feature with the main dub cast in the studio and in individual interviews. The postcards packaged with are decent art, but I could live without them. So far, this is a really entertaining series and I can't wait for the next bundle of episodes. In true anime style, this box leaves off on a cliffhanger, which makes it even harder to wait.

this is an amazing anime and follows the manga very well, which made me extremely happy since its one of my favorites but *cough* um yesssss. lovely art and good voice actors chosen for the charcters, with the exception of tokiko the leading female but it was not horrible just seemed alittle old for her,but i grew on me rather quickly and seems okay now.great anime. <3
