A: You need to pull the lid off from the handle side of the lid. The front portion of the lid fits into the carafe, and the "handle" portion of the lid snaps into the handle. Lift up on the portion of the lid by the handle and it should pop right off.

A: I would not recommend this model of cuisanart. My favorite is a Melitta. 12 cup. There are chooses of brew strengths and temp settings for holding it hot.

A: Nope, the only thing i didn't like about this model

A: It has a 2 prong plug.
