Q: Does this have a hard drive or a solid state drive?
A: It is a Hybrid...boot is solid state but rest is HD. See my review....very disappointed as two of them failed. Went with another brand. By the way one I went with (ASUS) has a regular 1 TB HD and boots quite a bit faster than the Dell....but the dell kept loosing the WIFI signal on the two I tried...evidently my experience with the two I tried is an issue on other Dells according to the Geek Squad person I talked to.
Q: Replacing HD
A: Yes the hard drive can be replaced buy unscrewing all the screws on the bottom of the laptop and slowly removing the plastic cover. The Hard drive is standard 2.5 Inch form factor so you can use SSD such as Samsung EVO 850.
A: There is one RAM memory slot (has a 8GB included) and One 5400 Harddrive that can be removed and replaced with SSD if desired. See my picture.
Q: Is that 4k display bright enough? Looks dim?
A: I don't have the NITS for the screen but the it fairly bright when turned up to 100%. The caveat was it eat through the battery faster, roughly 3 hours or less. I compared it side by side with my HP Spectre X360 15 and the HP was a bit brighter. In the end I returned the Dell because of the bad battery life and constant Intel driver crashes.
Q: any problems with video card ? or graphics ?
A: Had video problem on 4k screen and called Dell about the problem, read online about it and mentioned it to Dell Tech that I thought it might be a video driver, they checked my computer and downloaded a new driver and installed it for me.. Works great now....
Q: What is the RPM of the hard drive, 5400 or 7200, can't find in description
A: 5400, I highly recommend upgrading to an ssd
A: Yes, this has an HDMI output.
A: this 4k seams not support wacom aes. my adonit jot with pixelpoint pen sucks on this screen , it twists too seriously to draw comfortable line. So, if you are looking for wacom aes, go for the FHD one.
