A: The fan is super quiet, it is mostly off.
A: The hinges are strong, the screen holds greet in all positions. It stands up like a army tent. Best lap top ever.
Q: How long is the battery life on this laptop? is the keyboard uncomfortable?
A: Battery life is about 5 hours. The keyboard has a nice feel, less key travel - once you get used to that, you can type faster with less effort.
Q: can you attach a cd player to this laptop
A: I picked up the LG Ultra Slim Portable DVD Writer (BB around $30) and have had no trouble so far, having used it only for installing software. I would assume it could be used as an audio CD player too. It's very lightweight and wouldn't be a pain to include in your laptop bag if needed. Be sure and check the laptop item page for "special offers" which might get you 20% off the price of the LG drive if bought together - the offer appears frequently.
Q: What is the computer casing made of?
A: Aluminum above and around the keyboard, plastic on the bottom. It's sturdy.
A: I have never had a problem with this computer charging, but I always try to keep in plugged as much as any computer that I have used in the past.
Q: Is it possible to install a second hard drive in this model? (Traditional or SSD) Thanks!
A: www.crucial.com That website will help you find it out.
A: I agonized over the choice between 15.6 and 13.3 partly because of the issue you mention - it really looks like there is a lot of real estate around the 15.6 keyboard. I believe the keys are the same size between the two models based on looking at them in the store. I finally opted for the 15.6 model because I wanted the slightly larger screen for photo editing. At first I wasn't sure about the "island" type keys, having only used regular, keys-touching kinds of laptops and desktops in the past. However, I've had very little trouble getting used to typing on this new-to-me style of keyboard and have been overall very pleased. I think the wider body of the 15.6 model also sits more securely on my legs while using it than the 13.3 would have.
