A: The Bose 901 Series VI speakers are 8 ohm speakers. As per specifications for this unit, it will drive 8 ohm speakers at 90W per channel (8 ohm, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.08% 2ch Drive). If you want 185 watts per channel you must go buy 6 ohm speakers and then for a 1kHZ frequency it will drive 1 channel at 185 W. However, you'll likely destroy your speaker with 185W. I don't think the 901's are built to take that much power. This receiver output information is all in the specifications. A: In addition to the 1 yr longer warranty, the X2300W has Audyssey MultEQ XT to setup your sound environment. The S950W has Audyssey MultEQ. The Audyssey MultEQ XT is considered better. The X2300W also has 2 HDMI outs. I believe the S950W only has 1 HDMI out.
