Q: Does this computer have wireless internet built in?
A: No, it does not.
A: a "modem" is for dial-up connections to the internet. not many ISP (Internet Service Providers) use dial-up...but they are out there. "Modems" are only 56k. thats .0056MB This computer does have a LAN/Ethernet connection. If you use Charter/Cable or DSL - it will use this connection type. Cable & DSL providers off 1MB / 5MB / 10MB connections. Charter is now advertising "up to" 100MB. Tha's a maximum in a perfect world. You would never really see those speeds...unless you pay $400 a month for a special circuit from an ISP, you will never see faster speeds. This computers LAN/Ethernet, does do up to 1000MB (or gigabit) speed. this would only be usable on a home network with gigabit switches/routers. So, YES...it does have faster than 100MB - but MOST home users "typically" do not have anything in place to support or warrant this speed. YMMV
