Another great game in the series Posted by: from: on It feels like an expansion to Fallout 3. More of the same. That's either good or bad, depending on how you liked Fallout 3. Personally I like it a lot, so this game suits me just fine. One thing I found weird though is that they give you the game DVD but during install it ends up downloading the whole game from Steam anyway. What's the disc for? I could have just bought it from Steam if that's the case. Good thing I changed internet providers and no longer have a data cap, because it was somewhere around a 25GB download.

Different. Posted by: from: Michigan on If you enjoy any other of the 'modern' fallout games I am sure this will appeal to you as well, although it is a bit different in that you don't really play as 'yourself' anymore, instead you play as an actual made character.

I love this game Posted by: from: on You can follow the story-lines, one or many, in whatever order you choose. The game really is completely different depending on how you build up your character. The expanse of it is truly amazing. Or, you can just wander around, check things out, till you wander too far and get mauled by something way too powerful for someone who's just wandering around in the wasteland. The depth of the crafting/building system alone is mind-boggling. Go to youtube and see some of the videos of buildings that people have created. Just amazing. Many, many hours of discovery and playtime. You can keep going till you become so bad that you can do anything and go anywhere, or you get bored of doing ALL the missions (there are a TON) and just turn on god-mode so you can see everything.

Fun Game With Lots To Do Posted by: from: on Kind of a lengthy install process, but other than that a great game. Lots of stuff to do and many places to explore. Can easily spend over 200 hours of gameplay if you do every single quest for every faction. Love that you can use power armor right from start.

Slightly Different than Fallout 3 but still Fun Posted by: from: South Bay Area on I attended Best Buys's Midnight Release for this game and didn't have to wait too long. Game installs quickly... but did require some updates from Steam. As far as Game Play is concerned, it feels and plays like Fallout 3 and you can acquire the Power Armor by the second quest.. but there are a few quirks with this game. First, the armor now requires "power cells" that drain as you use it and once that happens you have to abandon the armor until you can find or buy a replacement. Another minor issue is you have to go through extra steps to find out the weigh of an item after picking it up. One thing that's a "Hit or Miss" is the CRAFTING part of the game. You pretty much have to do everything in this game. Generators.. lights... power switches... a wire to connect them up.. create beds/chairs/turrents for people.. At first it's very confusing... took me a few hours to get used to it... I don't like it that much.... but after paying $60+ for this game I'm FORCING MYSELF to love doing that.. hahahaha

A huge step ahead in world building and immersion Posted by: from: on The most amazing thing about Fallout 4 is that it still feels like Fallout 3, the fallout world in general, and yet is so much better than before. The intro story is fun and not the same vault dweller rehash, The immersion through rendering is meticulous. There is so much to see, and there are so many well stitched assets as your run through the world. Everything has been polished and brought to a next gen level. If you have a PC and a 970 or higher card this game gets even more amazing as well. I use two 970 strix cards in SLI and it runs flawlessly. The AI and ability to see and shoot in 3-4 stories in and out is great. The animations of things you can open and do, little icons that dance and die when things happen are awesome. The new abilities to mod and fix make more sense now as if there is finally enough ram and rendering power to bring a better, more realized fallout together. Have fun with it, just go out there and explore.

Wonderful game Posted by: from: on When the game came out, the 4 star rating applies. With the new updates (settler management, etc) it is definitely a 5 star game today.

Another classic from Bethesda Posted by: from: on Excellent purchase and well worth the money. I keep hearing Fallout New Vegas is still the best in the series but never having played it I can't comment other than to say it must be really special to be better than FO4. Just some advance warning before purchasing, be prepared to give up part of your life as this thing is a real clock killer and you won't even realize it!
