A: Yes--both fridge and freezer operate on same knob (also explains same in user's manual). I've found that if you turn colder for fridge (which runs warmer), the freezer gets VERY cold and starts making fridge sweat! Best ideal setting for both fridge and freezer is just below MEDIUM.

A: Very quiet it is in my room don't even hear it. And I have a microwave on top of it now. So I would say yes it's safe.
Q: Is it flat in back or are there coils?
A: The back is flat although the bottom 1/3 is open and the coils are inside although they do not protrude out form the back at all. You are supposed to keep all side 5" from the walls anyway.
Q: How long is the fridge cord?
A: It 's about 5 feet.
