Q: Can I change the background to be a personal picture?
A: You can download the app called Watch Styler on Samsung gear store and this will enable you to build a watch face and put your own background on it.
Q: can it be worn in the pool or shower?
A: Personally I wouldn't wear it. The watch is water resistant but I doubt it is water proof and even some products that are water proof get damaged. You have many places in which the water might go inside the watch like the speaker and microphone so again personally I wouldn't wear it.
Q: Do women wear this watch or is this a watch typically for a man?
A: It is worn by both, I bought this for my sister and she loves it! I may also put in here that she is tiny and it still looked good on her. Hope this helps.
