Best Mesh network on market
Posted by: BIGGRUSS from: Cibolo, tx on
I have a google OnHub, and wanted to add a Google WIfi to reach those hard to reach areas in my home. I have a 3k Sq/Ft home, and have over 26 devices linked to my wifi network at once. I have devices in my garage and back yard. My speeds and dropping has always been a issue in my farther reach devices. Since adding google Wifi I have had no drops, I am getting all the speeds I pay for (200MB) and can stream all my devices at once with no degradation of service. Its so good, that I called and dialed down my internet speed because I don"t need it. Saving an extra 20 a month on internet service. I am about to drop my service again and see my results. Bottom line, is there is a reason there sold out all over the internet, and double the price on ebay. This works...Period, mesh networking is the future, its easy on the wallet and worth every penny.

Best I have ever used!

I had a lot of problems with my network. We live in a refurbished loft with lots of open duct work, etc... We also run a lot of items for the size of our home (normally about 12 devices connected). Previously our speeds were 2-20mps download and would fade quickly as you moved away from the router. We are now at 150-200mps with very little loss of signal throughout our home. I used one for our 1200sf loft. The other thing that helped me was changing our router settings to fixed channels vs. automatic. I highly recommend this product.

Love this router - great design and super simple to setup. Our coverage in the house has improved as has our overall speed in all areas.
Setup was easy, managing devices is simple and I like the family mode feature.
To us the fact that it works so well with so little effort was a big win, I'm more than happy with this purchase.

Saved me $1300 a year
Posted by: amhausman from: on
The past two years, we've bought and tried to fix our Wifi problems using the Amped Wireless REA20 700mW High Power Dual Band AC Wi-Fi Range Extender and Amped Wireless Powerline Nano AV500 1-Port Network Adapter Kit. Neither of which helped solved our multiple Wifi problems: how do we get Wifi in the front rooms (living room and dining room) and back rooms (kitchen and bedrooms) and maybe even that garage office/back house apartment ALL AT THE SAME TIME without having to pay $115 extra for a second modem in the later?
It didn't seem like there was an answer to that problem until I discovered Google Wifi. I was so impressed by Google Wifi that I returned my Apple Airport products the next day. I set up the first Google Wifi single point in the living room right next to my Time Warner Cable modem/router and plugged them into each other using the Ethernet cable provided by the Google Wifi. It was crazy easy to set up my new network using the Google Wifi app on my iPhone. I then used the second Google Wifi single point in the kitchen which is two rooms away. Despite the app telling me that the Internet signal was weak, for the first time since I've moved into this house I was able to stream my shows WELL in the kitchen. I then set up the third Wifi single point in the separate garage office/back house apartment several yards away in another structure and IT WORKED. Despite the app telling me that this third single point signal was weak, my husband was able to stream TV shows and do all the work he needed to do on the Internet using the Google Wifi. I called Time Warner Cable the same day and canceled the service to our second router/modem back there saving us over $1300 a year.

All WIFI Problems Solved!
Posted by: Kene from: on
I live in a city with lots of interference. To give you an example, when we pull up our Wi-Fi networks at least 50 come up at any given time most of which have strong signals. In the past this has created problems with our Wi-Fi dropping. Prior to the device my best speeds were 20mps and are now are 200 with no drops. I have had this since the day it came out in early December and can tell you it's one of the best purchases I have made. A complete game changer for us!

OK, I don't usually do reviews but I decide do this one for those who expect the same or more than I expected, I really like the minimalistic and easy setup but in my medium apartment I didn't have a good signal at all, in my bedroom the connection switched automatically from 5ghz to 2.4ghz do the poor signal and therefore the speed slowed down almost a half. I consider it a good idea but it need more development and performing enhancer. For now it doesn't worth the price for me, even a single point.
Pros: (FOR ME)
1-Dual band 2.4ghz/5ghz
1-Just an Ethernet port
2-Poor signal coverage

This is a really good value. I live in an apartment building and you all know how bad it gets when it comes to wifi interference etc. I pay for 110mbps speeds and I get it all now (where previously I would just fluctuate between 30 - 50mbps). If you are paying for less than 200mbps speeds, get this. You will not regret it.

I like this router as it bumped my speed to about 105 mbps from 50 mbps from my old router. Please remember that it ultimately depends on your ISPs speed. My old router wasn't giving me all the full speed I paid to my ISP.
I though hate the fact that I have to sign into my google account to use this router. Probably, one of another Google tactics to track users :(

Simple and Straightforward

Recently was having issues with my ISP provided router so I picked this up along with a new modem. Connection is great and strong. I'm pretty sure this requires an iOS/android device since it requires you to download the app to set it up.
The app is basic and straightforward. You're able to name the router, make a password, share the password all within the app. Check the connection. Make a guest network. Turn off or adjust the routers lighting, which I thought was a great feature.
You can view what devices are connected to your network from the app and disable/pause them when you're not home, which is a neat feature if you have kids.
