GoPro HERO4 Black Action Camera: Capture the world around you in stunning 4K resolution and super slow motion at up to 240 frames per second with the GoPro 4. GoPro's standard waterproof housing lets you record underwater down to 131', plus built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow you to easily connect to the GoPro App and Smart Remote for simple control and video sharing.
Q: Does GoPro HERO4 BLACK comes with wifi control? (remote control)
A: No, but the better solution is getting the GoPro app (free) and control your camera and see through your camera's lens with your smartphone. It is a very easy set up with the GoPro and your phone and you would have no need for the remote, which has only basic controls and no view of what the camera is seeing. Using your phone also gives you a much bigger display than the camera itself.
Q: Which one should I get? I don't know if the touchscreen will be good as the 4k 30fps
A: If you prefer to film and grab still shots from a 12 mp frame, then go with the Black version. I had a Hero 3 where I would film my still shots in 4k (was only 12 fps), then switch back to 1080p for my action shots. With the Hero 4 Black, I can nearly always shoot in 4k 30 fps and pull still shots anytime I want. I have the Touchscreen Bacpac and find myself not using more often then not. More important to me is the Battery Bacpac because these are battery hogs, thus making the built in touchscreen pointless.
Q: Battery life in cold weather?
A: The stock battery lasts up to 2.5 hours, and the backpack gives you up to 2.5 hours more. In cold weather, you may loose 10 to 15%, but in the waterproof case the warm camera itself will keep the battery warm enough to negate much loss if any.
Q: Differnce between silver and black models
A: Black has no touchscreen but increased Frame-Per-Second capabilities. If you want to grab stillshots from 4k video (30 fps vs 12 fps), go with the Black. If a viewfinder is more important, then go Silver.
A: This product has 4K resolution.
Q: What is the best sd card to use in GoPro 4K?
A: Go for the SANDISC Extreme 64GB version. It's the biggest one usable by the camera, which will give you the longest record time. I tried a different brand and it gave me an error are 25 seconds of recording as it didn't allow the camera to write to the card fast enough. It's expensive at around the 100 dollar mark but it's more expensive missing the action shot where everything happens - usually around the time you run out of space on a smaller card . Hope this helps
Q: How good is the sound mic? Could you record a live band, for instance, without audio distortion?
A: In short yes, but lots of variables to consider. You would want to use the GoPro without the protective case and with no audience interference. If it were me, I would want the end xternal mic for even better audio.
Q: What all comes in the box with it?
A: It comes with the GoPro HERO4 Black 4K Action Camera, Rechargeable battery, USB cable, Standard 131' waterproof housing, skeleton backdoor, curved adhesive mount, flat adhesive mount, quick-release buckles, 3-way pivot arm and Owner's manual
