Creating and Managing Your Registry
How do I create a Best Buy® Wedding Registry?

To create a registry you need to be signed in to your BestBuy.com® account. If you don't have one, you can create an account. Creating an account is free and also gives you access to My Best Buy® member benefits. Learn more about My Best Buy.

Once you've signed in, there are a few ways to create your Best Buy Wedding Registry.

From BestBuy.com:

  • Use the top navigation, select Registry, then select Create a Registry.
  • Within your account, select the Wedding Registry option from the Lists section, then select Create a Registry.

From Best Buy mobile app:

  1. Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPP to 332211* to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.
  2. From the More tab on iOS or side navigation on Android, select Registries & Gifts.
  3. Under the Create heading, select Registry.

How do I add items to my registry?

From BestBuy.com and Best Buy mobile app:

  1. Sign in to your BestBuy.com account.
  2. Browse for items you want to add.
  3. If you're using a desktop or tablet, click the Add to Registry button on an item's product details page. If you're using the Best Buy mobile app, click the Add to button on an item's product detail page and then select Registry.

From a Best Buy store:

  1. Open your Best Buy mobile app. If you do not have the app, text GETAPP to 332211* to download the Best Buy mobile app, or download it from your app store.
  2. Sign in to your Best Buy.com account.
  3. Open your registry from the More tab on iOS or side navigation on Android and select Add Gifts and then select Start Scanning.
  4. Scan the QR code on the price tag or bar code on the item's packaging to add an item to your registry. If the item is eligible to be added to your registry, you will be directed to the item's product details page. From there, select Add Gift to Registry.

Please note that adding an item to a registry does not hold or reserve the item, and the price of the item is subject to change. Some items are excluded from our Wedding Registry program.

How long will my registry be available online?

Your registry will be available until you delete it.

How do I share my registry?

Within your registry, select Share to choose from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest or e-mail.

How do I view or edit my registry?

After signing in to your BestBuy.com account, you can access your registry within the Lists section of your account.

How do I update my registry information?

If you would like to update your registry settings or wedding details, select Edit Registry Profile in the upper-right corner of your registry.

What is the Registry ID used for?

Your unique Registry ID helps guests more quickly locate your registry. Whereas searching for a registry by name may return many results, searching by Registry ID will bring you or your guests directly to your registry.

What are the QR codes used for?

When you or your guests purchase registry items in a store, sales associates will scan the QR code to link the purchase to your registry. This process helps ensure you don't receive duplicate gifts by accurately reflecting which items from your registry have been purchased, as well as allows your gifts to qualify for extended returns and exchanges. The QR codes associated with your registry can be found by clicking your Registry ID link.

What happens if an item on my registry is discontinued?

If an item on your registry is discontinued, or no longer available, it will be removed from the registry and you will see a notification that includes recommendations for similar items.

Can I delete my registry?

Yes. You can delete your registry at any time within your Registry Profile. Please remember that deleting a registry is permanent and you will not be able to access your registry again, nor will it be searchable.

Keeping Track of Your Gifts

 

When someone purchases an item from my registry, will the purchase be reflected on my registry?

Yes, but the processes for online and in-store purchases differ slightly.

  • Online purchases: The item being purchased must be added to the cart from your registry. Once the purchase has been made, your registry will be automatically updated to reflect the purchase.
  • In-store purchases: A registry QR code must be scanned by a sales associate to link the purchase to the registry. It may take up to an hour to reflect in-store purchases on your registry.
Group Gifting

 

How does Group Gifting work?

Any item on your registry priced $200 or more will automatically be eligible for group gifting. If guests decide to help buy one of these gifts, they can click a Contribute button and enter the amount they wish to give. We will send an e-gift card for that amount to either you or your guest based on the guest's delivery preference.

Once you have the e-gift card, you can use it toward future purchases from Best Buy. E-gift cards are subject to the E-Gift Card Terms and Conditions.

What if I lose an e-gift card?

Your e-gift card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. If you lose your printed e-gift card, contact Customer Support immediately. If your e-gift card has not been redeemed or has remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue you a new e-gift card for that value.

When does the e-gift card expire?

E-gift cards have no fees and no expiration date. We recommend that you redeem it soon after you receive it, so you don't forget.

Registry Visibility

 

Can anyone see my registry?

When you create your registry, you are given the option to make your registry searchable through Best Buy and our partner sites.

For Best Buy:

  • Selecting Yes: Your registry will be searchable on our website, mobile app and in-store kiosks.
  • Selecting No: Your registry will be hidden from our search unless you provide guests with your Registry ID, but you will still be able to personally share your registry. If you choose to make your registry searchable through Best Buy, you can also share your registry with partner sites you choose.

For Partner Sites:

  • For each partner you select, your Best Buy Wedding Registry will sync with the partner site.

You can change these settings in your Registry Profile at any time.

How do I sync my Best Buy registry to a MyRegistry.com account?

Check the MyRegistry.com box during sign up for your Best Buy Wedding Registry or within your Registry Profile. If you are already a MyRegistry.com member, then your Best Buy Registry will synchronize automatically. If you are not yet a member of MyRegistry.com, and you want to synchronize your accounts, then MyRegistry.com should send you an email with a temporary password. Click through the e-mail to activate your account and your Best Buy registry will be synchronized for you.

What is the benefit of syncing my Best Buy registry to a MyRegistry.com account?

Syncing your Best Buy registry allows you to organize all of the items you want from Best Buy along with any other items you want in one universal gift list. You will have access to all the features to easily manage your registry all the way through, from adding items, sharing your registry with friends and family, keeping track of purchased gifts all the way to sending thank you notes after your event.

Does MyRegistry.com update when I add or delete items to my Best Buy registry?

If you add or remove items on your Best Buy Registry, your MyRegistry.com gift list will automatically re-sync to reflect the changes the next time you or your guests visit your registry. It may take up to two minutes for your updates to be reflected.

I tried to synchronize my Best Buy Registry on MyRegistry.com and it did not work.

Please confirm that you have made your Best Buy Registry searchable and that you have already added gifts to it. A private or an empty registry cannot be synchronized. If the registry is still does not appear on MyRegistry.com, contact MyRegistry.com Customer Service.

What if my registry or my registry items are not showing on The Knot?

If you checked the box for The Knot during sign up for your Best Buy Wedding Registry or within your Registry Profile and your registry is still not appearing on The Knot, contact The Knot Customer Service.

How can I remove my Best Buy registry from partner sites?

To remove your Best Buy registry from the search results on MyRegistry.com and/or The Knot, log into your Best Buy registry and update the settings within your Registry Profile. It may take up to two minutes for these changes to be reflected.

Shipping & Returns

 

Will you show my shipping address to guests?

When guests select a shipping address during checkout, we will only show the city and state from the shipping address you provided for your gifts.

How do you handle items that require scheduled delivery?

If you have items on your registry that require scheduled delivery, guests purchasing the item will not be able to schedule the delivery when they place their order. After they make their purchase, we will contact you within 48 hours by e-mail and phone to schedule delivery.

Can I return or exchange gifts I receive from my registry?

Yes. You can return or exchange most registry items up to 60 days after they were purchased. See BestBuy.com/Returns for full details.

Completing Your Registry

 

How do I use my 10% off completion offer?

Once your wedding date has passed, you will receive a coupon for 10% off to use in a single transaction toward items still remaining on your registry, or other items from Best Buy. You can use the coupon for future purchases in store or online. The coupon must be used before the expiration date. Some limitations apply. See BestBuy.com/RegistryCoupon for full details.

How do I find a registry?

The easiest way to find a registry is to search our website, mobile app or in-store kiosk using the first and last name of either person getting married. Your search terms must be an exact match, so be sure you are entering either name correctly. If your search is returning too many results, try adding the wedding date to your search to narrow the results.

You may also search using the Registry ID provided by the couple, which will bring you directly to their registry.

Will my gift purchase be reflected on the registry?

Yes, but the processes for online and in-store purchases differ slightly.

  • Online purchases: The item being purchased must be added to the cart from the registry. Once the purchase has been made, the registry will be automatically updated to reflect the purchase.
  • In-store purchases: When purchasing a gift in-store, have the sales associate scan the registry QR code on the printout to link the purchase to the registry. If you do not have the printout with you, you can find the registry QR code in the registry's Registry ID link from your mobile device. It may take up to an hour to reflect in-store purchases to the registry. Linking your purchase to the registry helps prevent couples from receiving duplicate gifts.
Can registry items be shipped directly to the person who created the registry?

Yes. Registrants will provide us with an address they would like their gifts sent to and you will be able to choose to send gifts directly to that address during checkout.

Can I include a gift message?

Yes. During the checkout process online, you will be asked if you want to include a gift message.

How does Group Gifting work?

Any registry item priced $200 or more will automatically be eligible for group gifting. If you'd like to contribute to a group gift item, you can click the 'Contribute' button on the registry and enter the amount you wish to give. We will send an e-gift card for that amount to either you or the couple based on your delivery preference.

If you prefer to personally deliver the e-gift card, choose Hand Delivery during your purchase. E-gift cards are subject to the E-Gift Card Terms and Conditions.

When will the couple receive their e-gift card?

Your e-gift card will be sent via e-mail on the delivery date you choose, with rare exceptions for processing delays. For same-day delivery, most e-gift cards are sent within an hour of the purchase transaction. For future delivery, e-gift cards are sent on the morning of the scheduled delivery date.

What if I lose the e-gift card?

The e-gift card has cash value and should be safeguarded as such. If you or the couple loses the printed e-gift card, contact Customer Support immediately. If the e-gift card has not been redeemed or has remaining value, we can cancel the original and issue a new e-gift card for that value.

How do I purchase Geek Squad® Protection for my gift?

If a gift is eligible for a Geek Squad Protection Plan, you will be able to select a protection plan for the gift in your cart when purchasing from BestBuy.com or a Best Buy store.

How do I transfer Geek Squad Protection to the couple?

Any plan is transferable to another owner for the product identified by the serial number on the plan. There are no restrictions provided your plan is valid, but a plan cannot be transferred to another product. As the purchaser, you are the owner of the plan. You can transfer your plan to the couple you're buying the gift for during the plan's coverage period, as long as the plan does not have an open claim. Will Best Buy gift wrap my product?

Gift packaging is a feature available only online. If your product is eligible, you will be offered gift packaging as an option in checkout. Some items cannot be gift packaged because of their shape or large size. For more information, see our Gift Packaging Frequently Asked Questions.
