Amazing TV, Great Price!

This tv was a nice upgrade to my living room. Picture and sound quality is top notch. Streaming 4k video from YouTube and Netflix is amazing. All of my video games look brand new because I am seeing picture detail and clarity that I never saw before with my old tv unit! Hisense also offers a 4 year extended warranty for free after you register your tv. So far I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

Can not be beat for the price

This TV has 4 HDMI inputs and 3 USB inputs. It streams in 4K and has a web browser and tuner. Tons of picture setting options. I like how it has a setting to turn off the screen keeping the audio playing. This will come in handy on music choice channels. I have this hooked up to surround sound now but I was amazed by the loudness and clarity of the 2 speakers even though they are in the back of the tv.

The quality of this TV is unmatched for the price. I was skeptical at first but 4k looks stunning as well as normal 1080p. Make sure to use HDMI input 3 or 4 if you want to plug in 4k devices such as an Xbox One S. They are the only two HDMI ports that are 2.0 (4k).

Excellent 4K TV at Unbeatable Price
Posted by: DoubleCnTN from: on
I purchased this TV after researching all major brands and decided to try Hisense. I purchased this having no experience with the brand. I am extremely impressed after the first week of use. I didn't think I would notice a huge difference compared to my older Samsung 1080p, but wow was I wrong. The picture quality is stunning and lifelike. I would purchase Hisense again without hesitation. I also purchased the Insignia TV stand pictured from Best Buy. They make a great pair for the living room!

Great 4k Smart TV for the price
Posted by: SldShadow from: FL on
I got this UHDTV for half it's price during BlackFriday sales, what a deal! I use my laptop's DisplayPort 1.2 and a DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 active adapter (there are 2 HMDI 2.0 port in the back of the TV) to get 3840x2160 at 60Hz for some fine gaming or 1080p at 120Hz. At 30Hz or lower, seems to have more color detail than at 60Hz (I think hertz higher than 30 I see lost in color). It could be the HDMI 2.0 cable I'm using, but I fix it by lowering the gamma and rising the saturation from my laptop.
I like that the picture and sound settings on the TV has it's own profile for each input and for apps. Don't have to keep switching presets between TV, Netfilx, etc.
The 50H6C don't have HDR I think. The demo video that plays after you finish setting up your TV shows a demonstration of HDR, so I'm not clear on if it use HDR or not.

Too good to be true - Died Christmas Day
Posted by: Jakevick25 from: on
Purchased in a flash sale because the price seemed way to good to pass up. All the reviews seemed good, and the expert at the store mentioned hisense had bought out toahiba and was now making screens for them as well. I took this as a good vote of confidence and purchased the tv and a new sound bar and subwoofer system as well. The first problem was with the ir audio out that did not work, oh well I figured I would just use an aux cord instead. Not as good of sound quality but it worked. Now three days into the tv ownership and it's a dead as beta tapes and laser discs. This tv is a giant black eye sore in our living room, glaring at me for not using my common sense. All the extra money we spent on PS4, games, sound bar and sub system as well as the movies and games are a waste. We can't even use our brand new tv.
If I can keep just one other customer from making a horrible buying decision then this post will have done its job.

HDR Issues with PS4 Pro
Posted by: MLD85 from: on
While the picture on this is beautiful so far (purchased less than a week ago) it is unable to receive 4k from our PS4 Pro. We get a message from the PS4 telling us that the TV only supports 2k and that this may be possible to change in the TV's settings. There is no way to change this in settings. We called Hisense customer support and they said it needs a firmware update, which would take two days to email to us. It's four days later and the only email we have received is to tell us there is no firmware update available for this model. They asked for details of what we are unable to get 4k from, so I sent a picture of the message we are receiving and explained the situation again. I have heard nothing back since.
Lost a star for the HDR incompatibility and lost a star for bad customer service.
We are considering returning the TV at this time, as we paid more for 4k and if we can't utilize it we may as well pay less. The picture quality at the 2k level is about the same as what we observed on the 1080p models in store.
It's funny (not haha) because the Best Buy employee talked us into this TV because it would look so much better playing our PS4 in 4k...
Also note that if you don't plan to put this on the wall the feet are not very stable. Can cause a bit of anxiety with kids or pets. Bit of a pain to get out of the box too, as it explicitly says not to press on the screen and yet there are no handholds at all. We were told not to lay the box down, but that ended up being the only way to extricate the TV safely.
