Perfect for an addition to MacBookPro

This is a fantastic computer monitor! It's well made with a metal base and the 25" screen is huge. It works extremely well with a MacBookPro Laptop, a simple plug and play operation with an HDMI cable and that gets you the nice 25" screen. The sale was amazing!

A beautiful monitor with a sub-par display
Posted by: Luke from: on
This was a bit of an impulse buy, I have been wanting a monitor a little smaller than my Samsung S27C500 that is a little more energy efficient (turns out this HP model is actually a decent amount less efficient). The monitor is a marvel aesthetically, it looks great, is incredibly thin, has small bezels, and is made out of actual metal, not just metal looking plastic.
Ultimately, however, the picture quality just wasn't there when I compared it side by side to my current samsung monitor (Which, was in the same price range when new). The blacks on this HP monitor were more gray than black, and it started to get on my nerves after about 3 days of use. I fiddled with the brightness and other various image settings but just couldn't find a mode I liked. The screen just doesn't do dark colors very well. There is a "HP enhance+" setting that actually makes the screen look a good amount better, but for some reason the monitor would not let me save it/turn it on. So in review, this monitor is aesthetically near perfect, in my opinion. The screen/image quality just isn't there.
However, if you don't have a monitor that you will compare this to side by side, it's possible you won't even notice any of the things I did. This monitor looks gorgeous on my desk and I'm a little bummed that I'm returning it since my Samsung monitor is like a big plastic toy with some pretty large bezels.

bad service from Best Buy and HP
Posted by: adam101 from: on
I bought two HP monitors (25 and 23). After two weeks, one monitor has pixel problem to always have bright green light at the middle. We called Best Buy and was informed that they can refund with store credit since 15 days has passed. When we went to Best Buy store, they changed the story and would not take it and told us to call HP customer service from Best Buy store for warranty service. HP service would not take it either and claimed the monitor needs to have at least 3 pixels problem to qualify tor warranty fix. So we are stuck with a defective monitor. Best Buy would not help to resolve it. Not sure whether we should use a hammer to make more defective pixels to qualify the warranty service.

I picked up three monitors when they went on sale for $130 at the local store. The screen is not a typical matte finish, and it is not a typical glossy finish, but about half way in-between. Good viewing angle, which is important for multi-monitor setups. The screen texture mentioned earlier is a good cross between the clean experience of using a glossy screen, and the anti-glare nature of matte finishes. Colors display accurately as far as I can tell on them, and I cannot find any dead pixels, although that does not mean they don't exist. They do play well with the Nvidia control panel, and the thin bezel makes Surround a decent experience. They are incredibly light weight, and about one third of the way up the back, after the input sockets and power management are out of the way, the screen becomes approximately 1/4 inch thick.

I bought a pair of these monitors on sale for $129 each ($100 off MSRP) and they are amazing. The bezel is really narrow. The thickness (or thin-ness) of the monitor is mind blowing. The base has a relatively small footprint. The monitor is IPS LED so it doesn't give off a lot of heat. The image quality and superb. The only negative point I can come up with for this monitor is that it's not VESA compatible (you can't mount it), but other than that, I would highly recommend it. You can't find a better monitor for the price.

Perfect size for a desktop computer monitor
Posted by: hudson112 from: on
The size and clarity are good for people with age related vision. I don't need reading glasses to view print. The biggest issue is I use this screen for two desktops and I toggle back and forth and it takes a few seconds each time catch up the ratios between computers and programs.

Great 2nd Monitor

Bought this to use as a second monitor for my laptop. The 25 inch screen size is more than enough for easy side by side document comparisons windows. Resolution is clear and colors pop.
