Q: Does this HP laptop have overheating/fan noise issues?
A: I use this laptop for engineering design and will leave it running for long hours. I have yet to have this problem. In fact, it remains relatively cool for long periods of time..nothing like my Dell.
Q: Battery
A: Spectre X360 15 inch has a primary battery 3-cell 64.5WHr Lithium-ion Battery. The HP website says Battery life Up to 9 hours and 30 minutes but this may be for the 1080P Screen. The 4K screen will drain more power, my guess would be 7.5-8 hours with light use.
Q: Which version would be best for college, the 15.6 inch or 13.3 inch?
A: I am a medical student. I use the 13" Spectre 360, which is adequate, but wish I had a larger screen for reading .pdf books, etc.
Q: What do I need to purchase if I want to listen to or upload a CD/DVD?
A: Good question. You can use an external USB DVD/CD drive to read/write CDs or DVDs. I hope this helps.
A: That is true. The graphics card required to run today's games at high settings @ 1080, is significant. 4k is approximately 4x that. The integrated graphics will not cut it at that resolution. You can probably play games at lower resolution, but not 4k. External graphics cores are a newer technology for attaching high powered desktop graphics cards to laptops, however they require specific connections. One example, the Razer Core will work with laptops with a thunderbolt 3 usb-c connection, it comes out in June. I'm not sure if this laptop has thunderbolt 3.
A: Mine does the exact same thing. Apparently this is an issue from HP its BIOS. You will need to contact HP to see if they will address the issue. A: According to PC World's review of the product its USB-C port doesn't support thunderbolt 3.
