GREAT bluetooth mouse
Posted by: Themousehunter from: TN on
This is an excellent bluetooth mouse with flawless connectivity. It didn't ask for codes or anything as with another brand that I used. The mouse is solid and well made and most men will love it because it is full sized (I'm a girl but I know what a lot of tech complaints derive from.) There are a couple of complaints about disconnection but I have not found that to be a problem with my Thinkpad X230 and Bluetooth 4.0. It WAS a problem with my old Dell and Bluetooth 2.0 and another mouse. I could tell from the disconnects that it was a bluetooth problem and not a mouse problem. I googled and viola it was the bluetooth driver so I'd check that before I returned a perfectly functional mouse. A good bluetooth mouse is definitely hard to find (my microsoft presenter bt mouse had the sides peel off, and the memory bt mouse won't charge correctly any longer and both had a short battery life.
I like this mouse and definitely was glad that I saw it on sale.
To change batteries follow these instructions! http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c03088537/c03088537.pdf After you open the top there are two tabs (one directly over each battery). Press gently down on the tabs and the battery holder will pop right out! Then you can remove the batteries and replace them.

An excellent bluetooth mouse!

I was looking for a Bluetooth mouse for my new Samsung touchscreen ultrabook (the NP540U3C), and saw this unit squirreled away with other HP accessories in my local BestBuy. It has worked out perfectly. It feels very good in the hand, and works well on every surface I have used so far. Installation was extremely easy. It now keeps one of my USB ports free!

Works with any computer with bluetooth
Posted by: seniorcitizen from: on
Purchased to use with my notebook computers. This mouse works well with all of my notebook computers, a Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet, as well as my desktop computer. I have tried several computers (HP, ACER and the desktop I built myself). Connection and setup was simple and straight forward. Using this allows me to recover a USB port on my laptop for other purposes. I got this on sale for $14.95 a great buy.

HP - Wireless Bluetooth Laser Mouse
Posted by: Brimster from: Rochester Hills, MI on
It's good for web browsing, it would be perfect if it had tilt buttons...
But for the price, meh... Can't complain too much!
I like the fact that I don't need another device hogging up one of my USB ports for bluetooth!
Even though it doesn't support next and previous page options, I still give it two thumbs up!

This is a good performing and accurate mouse. It is not quite up to gaming levels of performance but is quite accurate given the price and the great bluetooth performance. I also own the Razer Orochi which is very very accurate and more responsive than the HP x4000, but, the Orochi has a fatal flaw in that it lags when waking. The HP x4000 is completely lag free. The only thing I dislike about the HP x4000 is the shape and that is the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.

Works Great on an iMac
Posted by: SonnyBeaches from: Florida on
Bought an iMac Retina with a trackpad and found I needed a regular mouse from time to time. I saw this mouse for 19.99 and had 10 reward bucks...so I jumped on it and paid about 10 bucks. It set up in a flash and stays well connected. Still use the trackpad for touch issues and using both is quite handy. This is a good solution, if you are a Mac user and do not want to buy a Magic Mouse for 69 bucks. Also. the right click on this mouse gives me a fast back page or reload page option that replaces the swipe back that an Apple Magic Mouse has for changing internet screens.

Worked a month, then it didn't. HP Bluetooth Mouse
Posted by: Elle from: on
Thiis HP Bluetooth Mouse was purchased for a new MacBook 12 ", and worked perfectly at first. Then it started disconnecting, finally won't connect at all, after a month or so of service. Tried calling HP's support line available until midnight, supposedly, never got to a tech person in two days of phoning at different hours. Just busy signals. Now just want to return it, too annoying and unreliable. HP should save the money it's putting into so-called "support", and use it to improve product reliability, or processing returns. jNow what????.

This Bluetooth Mouse works super
Posted by: TTfive from: Wash,DC on
I use Apple computers lots and recently needed to swap to a PC and the mouse was one of those USB Dongle types. Well I had the laptop in the corner of my desk plugged into a monitor and was using the mouse when I moved the laptop closer to the wall and bumped the USB dongle. Things stopped working, couldn't move the cursor with the mouse. Found the dongle was busted, so now the keyboard and mouse are toast as well. Went to Best Buy to replace it and What Do You Know! There is a Bluetooth mouse for PCs. Got this gem home - turned it on and Bluetooth discovered it on the PC. Works like a Champ. Plus the USB slot is now available for other uses.

Look Ma - No adapter!
Posted by: LoveItWhenThingsWork from: on
Initially looked at another HP mouse @ Best Buy, but its reviews led me to look further. This one was 1/2 the cost, and not fancy, but I've been pleased with it.
Paired with my desktop, and used it a few days to get used to it. Wouldn't know it was Bluetooth - no lag, just works. Then paired it with my Android (LG) phone, and my 8" Windows tablet. It's with the tablet that it solves two problems - too small icons, and no USB dongle. Very pleased.
Battery replacement initially confusing. You pull up at the back 'point', and don't force it - plastic clips in front and small magnets in back make for an elegant battery cover, on top.
Please note that the biggest issue isn't with the mouse, it's with Bluetooth pairing (and unpairing). The mouse itself is perfect.
