Overall Good value smartwatch
I have been waiting for a good smartwatch which is good value for the price and i finally brought this (Huawei - Watch 2 Carbon Black) from BestBuy in July for $219 on sale . For that price i am happy with the features if has , but I would not recommend to buy it for $299 , if you are in market then wait till Thanksgiving and it could go below $180. That being said i needed something right now so i brought this in BestBuy as soon as i saw it in sale and used all my BestBuy rewards as well so overall i got a good deal. I am writing this review after using it for a month . Below is summary of my likes , dislikes and suggestion for next version. Likes: Heart rate monitor - Continuous HR monitor Inactivity remainder - I like the inactivity remainder which it does if i am sitting continuously for one hour Bluetooth - Connection maintains really good and range is good as well NFC - I pay using watch GPS - Awesome when running , puts my track on the map Health app - It gives recovery time which i like a lot Step counter - its accurate Elevation count – yes it does this I was surprised , tested this many times in stairs and also in park while walking into higher elevation. Display - its crisp Waterproof - i take care of the electronics really well but this one of reason i awaited for a watch which is reasonable price and has waterproof because watch is something I wear it which can’t be protected like phone. Battery life - It last 1 day for sure and but if the gesture features are disabled then it would last for 2 days . Everyday i have at least 35 to 40% left. Android wear 2.0 - Like it very much Dislikes: Watch Strap - I replaced it in a week , the strap it came with was very low quality it was not good Screen size - Wish it was 1.3 inch because 1.2 is small Strap size - I wish it was 22mm strap as well similar to the classic version Software lag - I think it not fully optimized , sometimes it lags to load the android pay or ok google . Thinness - Wish it was 2 mm less think Workout modes – Wish it had more workout modes No sim option - US version does not have this but international does , not sure why. This could have been a big selling point Price - Please make the next version release with a reasonable price , why release it for $299 and go on sale rather introduce it at $199 and make it more affordable so it is in everyone's wrist. Suggestion for next version: Heart rate Transmitter - Many smartwatches are introduced targeting the people with active life and who hits the gym often but missing a very good and key feature. Heart rate transmitter will be very very useful feature and could work with every single cardio machines out there in gym. Almost all treadmill , elliptical , stairs and bicycle machines has the Heart rate based mode which can be used with the smartwatch if it does the Heart rate transmission. Work out details on Web - There is no way to see my work out details on web , i hope Huawei develops something like Google fit or pass the data to google fit. I will buy the next version if it addresses all my dislikes and my suggestion.

Nice Watch
Good watch. Easy set up. It does everything as advertised. Battery life is good. I did like the size & look of the original Huawei watch slightly better, but really have no complaints.

Expensive watch that just doesn't deliver
I recently purchased a Samsung S8+ and I needed to find a watch that was compatible with Android Wear. After comparing the specs between Huawei Watch 2 and Samsung Gear S3, I didn't see enough value in the Gear S3 so I purchased the Huawei Watch 2. This watch is rather large and clunky. Huawei didn't design their own app with many functions. It records heart rate and exercises, but the heart rate sensor is inaccurate so its not useful for workouts. I can go to high intensity cardio and it will show up as a warm up. The heart rate sensor is delayed so you can't see your heart rate during a workout. It lags by about 15 seconds. On top of that, the battery life is much shorter than 2 days. I'm lucky if i get a day and a half and that's without using all the functions of the watch. Another issue I have with the watch is that it doesn't natively monitor your sleep. You have to download a 3rd party app and turn on the app on the phone and let it communicate with your watch via bluetooth while you sleep. What's good about the watch are the smartwatch functions like receiving text messages, phone calls, and Android Pay, but if I wanted a smartwatch then I wouldn't be wearing this huge plastic watch.

Far better than professional reviews state
First let's get this out of the way: is the gear 3 frontier better? Well, maybe, but not for everyone. After getting a new Samsung Galaxy S8 I decided to pair it with a gear 3. The Gear was uncomfortable and I couldn't help but feel I was missing out on Android Wear 2.0 by using tizen. So I switched to the Huawei Watch 2. The Watch 2 is incredibly light and comfortable. Android Wear 2.0 is snappy and convenient. It has more AVAILABLE storage than the S3, because after tizen S3 only had 1.6 GB available of the advertised 4! The play store is right on your wrist, you can download apps and faces directly to the watch. Google Fit is very useful. "Okay Google" from my watch bypasses the not yet ready Bixby on the S8 and my favorites: Google music and Google maps right on the wrist. I could go on about how surprised and satisfied I am with this light, comfortable and capable watch, but I'll end with this: yes like so many online reviews state, the included band seems cheap and makes the watch look clunky... But check out how nice it looks with a replacement 20mm band.

Great smart watch
It was between this watch and a Samsung watch . I picked this one because it does just about everything the Samsung watch does. I can text get my emails notifications steps , heart rate calories .
